Gambian kora virtuoso Dawda Jobarteh and Danish master drummer Stefan Pasborg join forces to release their exhilarating live album, ‘Live In Turku’. A captivating fusion of traditional West African sounds and contemporary improvisation, the record is set to release on April Records on May 17th.

World-renowned archivist, author and blues educator Stefan Grossman learned from the greats during the folk and blues revival of the 1960s in the United States. He appeared on a few records in the mid-60s before releasing his debut album, How To Play Blues Guitar (Elektra, 1966).

Stefan Pasborg is one of his generation’s most brilliant, inspiring and visionary musicians, and has within the last 20 years established himself as one of the most successful Danish instrumentalists.

Rare concert recordings from 1962 made by Stefan Grossman of the Rev. Gary Davis at the legendary folk club Gerdes Folk City. These three CDs span Rev. Davis repertoire of blues, rags, novelty tunes and gospel songs.

Canadian composer Zane Zalis’s oratorio I Believe is a symphonic contemporary oratorio and has been performed to sell out audiences in Winnipeg, Stuttgart, Toronto and New York and to date has been seen by about 20,000 people. I Believe is a concert work about the Holocaust. Using music and words, a story of hate, survival and hope is told from within the minds of the victims and perpetrators.

Philipp Wolfrum (1854-1919) was one of the most influential personalities in German musical life around 1900. He worked as a choirmaster, organist, composer, professor and university music director in Heidelberg and friendships connected him with Engelbert Humperdinck, Max Reger and Richard Strauss; he also maintained close contact with the Bayreuth circle around Richard Wagner's widow Cosima. Liszt and Wagner were his great idols and this is also noticeable in his compositions.
