Bryan Adams With his powerfully raspy voice and T-shirt and blue jeans classic rock swagger, Bryan Adams is a pop icon who has scored hit after hit, attaining global fame in the 1980s. A rising star in his native Canada beginning in the late '70s, he first made headway with his 1983 album Cuts Like a Knife. However, it was 1984's Reckless that turned him into an international sensation thanks to the hits "Run to You," "Heaven," and "Summer of '69." From that point on, Adams sold out arenas (much like his contemporaries Bruce Springsteen and John Mellencamp) and broke chart records, as with his 1991 power ballad "Everything I Do (I Do It for You)." He continued this success with 1994's "All for Love" and 1995's "Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman," and remained a formidable presence on the American charts with albums like 1991's Waking Up the Neighbours and 1996's 18 Til I Die. Adams has also retained a loyal audience in the U.K. and Canada, where he's scored Top Ten albums like 2008's 11, 2015's Get Up, and 2019's Juno Award-winning Shine a Light.

BMG will issue Live at the Royal Albert Hall 1974 in February a Bryan Ferry live album that was recorded 45 years ago at the famous London venue. This concert saw the setlist built from Ferry’s first two solo albums, 1973’s These Foolish Things and Another Time, Another Place from 1974. Both albums saw the Roxy Music frontman cover other people’s songs (with the exception of Another Time, Another Place‘s title track).

This is an interesting title in the wake of the notion that Stefano Battaglia composed most of these pieces and has performed them on earlier recordings – both solo and with various groups – and that Tony Oxley is such a renowned improviser…

While fronting Roxy Music in the 1970s and early '80s, Bryan Ferry devised a blueprint for art rock, and as a solo performer, he brilliantly updated the parameters of the pop songbook. Although Ferry's solo career has included several excellent self-penned tracks, he's best-known for his adventurous interpretations of songs from the rock and pop canon. Combining a studied, wry, lounge-singer persona with a genuine passion for everything from Motown and Bob Dylan to the Great American Songbook of the 1920s and '30s, Ferry's performances add a post-modern gloss to pop standards. Following rumors of a reunion, Roxy Music re-formed in 2001 and did several tours during the ensuing decade.

Once you hear Billy Strings do his thing, you'll get it. His unhinged flat-picking guitar playing kicks the tradition of bluegrass into new territory with one foot while keeping the other firmly planted in the genre's rich tradition. As a young artist, his songwriting, already scary good, seems to only be improving.
