The Flash

The Flash
After a particle accelerator causes a freak storm, CSI Investigator Barry Allen is struck by lightning and falls into a coma. Months later he awakens with the power of super speed, granting him the ability to move through Central City like an unseen guardian angel. Though initially excited by his newfound powers, Barry is shocked to discover he is not the only "meta-human" who was created in the wake of the accelerator explosion -- and not everyone is using their new powers for good. Barry partners with S.T.A.R. Labs and dedicates his life to protect the innocent. For now, only a few close friends and associates know that Barry is literally the fastest man alive, but it won't be long before the world learns what Barry Allen has become...The Flash.

The Flash was created by Gardner Fox and Harry Lampert in his original incarnation. He first appeared in Flash Comics #1. (1940) The modern version was created by Robert Kanigher, John Broome and Carmine Infantino, first appearing in Showcase #4 (1956). The superhero has remained one of DC's most popular and each version of the Flash has been a key member of at least one of DC's three premier teams: the Justice Society of America, the Justice League, and the Teen Titans. The Flash is the fastest man alive. The protector of Central City and Keystone City, fighting against evil using his super-speed and a dedicated sense of heroism. His legacy, the Flash Family, spans throughout history tapping into the enigmatic Speed Force to gain their powers. Jay Garrick was the original Flash of the Golden Age, and a founding member of the Justice Society of America. Barry Allen was the Flash of the Silver Age and a founding member of the Justice League of America. He sacrificed himself to save the universe during the storyline "Crisis on Infinite Earths", but was resurrected during "Final Crisis." His replacement was Wally West, his nephew and the original Kid Flash, formerly of the Teen Titans. The fourth was Bart Allen, who started his career as Impulse. They are all currently active. The current ongoing series' Flash is Barry Allen, the second incarnation of the character and generally considered the first hero of the Silver Age of comic books. Now volume three in library terms, this new series is fast-paced, dynamic and with a taut, coiled edge well-suited to the dynamics of a superhero universe that has radically changed during the last decade. Save for the current issue, all are high-quality Minutemen scans.

The Flash by Mark Waid Book One (2016) (TPB)
English | CBR | 367 pages | 566.74 MB

In 1990, Mark Waid wrote his first Flash story. Under his keen pen, Wally West, who had already been running in the footsteps of the Flashes who came before him, matured into a Flash in his own right. Waid brought a depth of character to The Flash that changed him for good. As a child, Wally visits his Aunt Iris and her distinctly boring fiancé, the perpetually tardy Barry Allen. Things get interesting for Wally, first when he discovers that Barry and The Flash work together, and then when an accident in Barry's lab gives him powers just like his hero's! Young Wally is quickly in danger-not only from The Flash's enemies, but from the side effects of his new powers! This first book in THE FLASH BY MARK WAID series collects THE FLASH #62-68, THE FLASH ANNUAL #4-5, THE FLASH SPECIAL #1 and THE FLASH TV SPECIAL #1.

Learn Macromedia Flash MX from the absolute beginning through The Flash MX Project. This book begins with web project management concerns and challenges as well as Web design considerations and concepts, and then quickly progresses through beginning and intermediate Flash MX skills. The Flash MX Project is broken up into a collection of hands-on seminars that each focus on teaching a specific aspect of Flash MX. Each seminar begins with a lesson that covers the concepts and techniques contained in that seminar. Then it continues with a Workshop, in which you are taken step-by-step through applying those concepts and techniques to an actual Flash movie. Reflecting the popularity, style, and award-winning innovation of many children's activity web sites, including Crayola and Lego, The Flash MX Project features a fictional children's activity site. If you choose to work through the book cover-to-cover, you will build an entire Flash web site that includes compelling graphics and animation, audio, video, ActionScript-driven activities, games and personalization, and XML-driven forms.
