This recital offers a kaleidoscopic array of styles unified by South America’s national instrument, the guitar. Titans of Latin American music such as Piazzolla and Barrios Mangoré are represented, but so too are distinctive composers less well known outside of their own countries. Genres such as milonga, Venezuelan waltz and choro are featured, in music suffused with lyric melancholy and vivacious, biting rhythms.

After "Ginastera" (2016) and "Debussy/Tôn Thât-Tiêt" (2018), PRAELUDIO is the third opus - the first as a soloist- that Patrick Langot has recorded with Klarthe Records. Founder of the Syntonia Quintet, soloist and chamber musician with a much praised discography (Chocolate Classical, Diapason Découverte, first choice of the "Tribune des Critiques" on France Musique) and lead cellist of internationally renowned ensembles, Patrick Langot delivers here a recital on three different instruments, uniting the Alpha and Omega of the "prelude" for solo cello.

Over the past few months, they’ve been writing jingles for companies like Mountain Dew, Coors Light. Totino’s, and DiGiorno, but without any of them asking for it. “We uncovered this case of Mountain Dew that we had used as a prop in a music video we made a few years back,” says guitarist Billy Jeans. “They’d been in the basement forever, but we cracked into those Dews and they were surprisingly fresh. That was a big inspiration for us.”

The great Swedish trio of Bobo Stenson takes a stand against indecision in a decisively beautiful new album. As ever, the trio draws upon a wide range of source materials. A yearning title song by Cuban singer-songwriter Silvio Rodríguez, Bartók’s adaptation of a Slovak folk song, a piece from Mompou’s Cançons I Danses collection, and Erik Satie’s Elégie are integrated into the programme, alongside original compositions by Stenson and Anders Jormin and group improvising. So strong is the group’s character and the musical identity of each of its members that the integration of this material always feels organic and logical.

When country music superstar Kenny Chesney pulled out some tapes to listen to his last 10 years of shows, he immediately wanted to share all these moments with the people who inspire him – and who took the songs to a whole other level out on the road. The result is Live In No Shoes Nation, a 2CD live album which spans a decade. The double album showcases the high velocity good feelings that have defined Chesney’s work. Stadium shows, pop-up bar gigs, amphitheatres, and the occasional beach takeover; it’s all here. It also features appearances by his friends, co-writers and tour-mates, ranging from Eric Church, Mac McAnally, David Lee Murphy, Old Dominion, Grace Potter, Taylor Swift and the Zac Brown Band.

The twelfth album from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Unlimited Love, is notable for several reasons: Next year, the band will have been around for 40 years; it's their first since 2009 with on-again, off-again guitarist John Frusciante; and they've returned to producer Rick Rubin, who helmed their 1991 commercial breakthrough Blood Sugar Sex Magik. The old gang sounds like they're having more fun than ever.
