Achingly gorgeous and hauntingly stark, Mark Hollis' self-titled debut picks up where he left off with Talk Talk's Laughing Stock seven years earlier, re-emerging at the nexus point where jazz, ambient, and folk music collide. It's quite possibly the most quiet and intimate record ever made, each song cut to the bone for maximum emotional impact and every note carrying enormous meaning. Hollis paints his music in fine, exquisite strokes, with an uncanny mastery of atmosphere that's frequently devastating. And if anything, his singularly resonant voice has grown even more plaintive with the passage of time, which – combined with the understated artistry and minimalist beauty of tracks like "The Colour of Spring" and "Watershed" – makes Mark Hollis a truly unique and indelible listening experience. His obvious understanding of the power of silence aside, one prays he doesn't again wait for the seven-year itch to strike before returning.

Theo Travis is London based jazz, progressive and ambient saxophonist, flautist, composer, improviser and producer who has worked with Robert Fripp, David Sylvian, Gong, Bill Nelson, Harold Budd, John Foxx, The Tangent, Steven Wilson and Porcupine Tree.
Featuring Theo's current band of Mike Outram (guitar), Pete Whittaker (hammond organ) and Nic France (drums) the album is a mix of jazz, prog, rock, ambient and blues. Considered by some as Theo's finest solo album, it highlights Theo's superb tenor sax and flute playing and some of his finsest compositions. Pieces also include a version of Robert Wyatt's 'Maryan', and Theo's own take on his co-written piece 'A Place in the Queue' from the album by the Tangent of the same name…

Spirit of Eden is the fourth studio album by English band Talk Talk, originally released in 1988 on Parlophone Records. The songs were written by vocalist Mark Hollis and producer Tim Friese-Greene and the album was compiled from a lengthy recording process at London's Wessex Studios between 1987 and 1988. Often working in darkness, the band recorded many hours of improvised performances that drew on elements of jazz, ambient, blues, classical music, and dub. These long-form recordings were then heavily edited and re-arranged into an album in mostly digital format.

The Colour of Spring is the third studio album by English band Talk Talk, originally released in February, 1986. Musically, The Colour of Spring was a major step away from the synthesised pop of early Talk Talk, with a greater focus on guitars, pianos, and organs on such songs as "Life's What You Make It", "Living in Another World" and "Give It Up". It had a sound described by the band as much more organic than their earlier records, with the improvisation that was to dominate on their later works already apparent in the recording process.

"The Colours Of Spring" presents a band in the midst of radical reinvention. Remarkably, though, this 1986 outing doesn't carry the air of an awkward transitional album; in fact, it's arguably the British group's finest and most assured record. Working closely with producer/multi-instrumentalist Tim Friese-Greene, Talk Talk takes a sizable step away from its glossy early work, opting for a warm, organic sound that perfectly complements frontman Mark Hollis's plaintive vocals and pensive, existential lyrics.
