In 1999, Eidos Interactive brought us one of the most refreshing real-time strategy games of that year. With its addictive and challenging gameplay, Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines separated itself from the masses with its unique approach to the strategy game genre. Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty is basically a mission add-on pack for Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines, adding just eight more missions, a few new weapons and a higher graphics resolution. However, this game is sold as a stand-alone product so you won't need the original Commandos to play.

It was a minor stroke of genius when director Andrew Leman of the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society decided to film Lovecraft's influential 1925 horror story as a faux silent film. Fake scratches, handsome intertitles, a captivating score, and high-contrast black-and-white images at dramatic angles that recall the best German Expressionism go a long way to further the illusion that the film was made in '25 instead of '05. With one gesture, Leman solved dozens of problems–suddenly, it didn't matter that the special effects weren't quite state of the art, that the story consists of an undramatic pile-on of narratives-within-narratives, that the production couldn't even afford a real boat. The result is an almost-vintage tale of hair-raising mystery full of bizarre dreams, murderous eskimos, and blood-thirsty cultists that culminates in the revelation of an unspeakable horror. "Call of Cthulhu" is a highly entertaining addition to anybody's Halloween library.

John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, The Bourne Identity, Shrek, Solo: A Star Wars Story, X-Men: The Last Stand) has revealed the full details of the soundtrack album for the adventure drama The Call of the Wild. The album features the film’s original music written by the Academy Award-nominated composer. The Call of the Wild is directed by Chris Sanders and stars Harrison Ford, Dan Stevens, Omar Sy, Karen Gillan, Bradley Whitford and Colin Woodel. The movie is based on Jack London’s classic novel and tells the story of Buck, a big-hearted dog whose blissful domestic life is turned upside down when he is suddenly uprooted from his California home and transplanted to the exotic wilds of the Alaskan Yukon during the Gold Rush of the 1890s. The drama will be released in theaters nationwide on February 21 by 20th Century Studios.
