The Four Freshmen Live At The Franklin Theatre (2014)

Eilen Jewell has self-released a two disc set titled Live at the Narrows. The double-album includes live and updated versions of Eilen's original songs, some of her favorite covers, and a brand new song titled ''Rio Grande.'' This special release was recorded over two evenings at the Narrows Center for the Arts in Fall River, MA in February, 2014 with her long-time road band. After years of requests for a live album, Live at the Narrows beautifully documents Jewell‰'s live show and features her alluring vocals, Jerry Miller's blistering electric guitar work and the tight rhythm section of Jason Beek on drums and Johnny Sciascia on upright bass.

Aside from the Beatles and perhaps the Beach Boys, no mid-'60s rock group wrote melodies as gorgeous as those of the Zombies. Dominated by Colin Blunstone's breathy vocals, choral backup harmonies, and Rod Argent's shining jazz- and classical-influenced organ and piano, the band sounded utterly unique for its era. Indeed, the Zombies' material – penned by either Argent or guitarist Chris White, with unexpected shifts from major to minor keys – was perhaps too adventurous for the singles market.
