In The Forgotten 45s 1957-1959 we are remembering the records that deserved to be a UK hit but, for whatever reason, were not. Packed with singles by hit-makers of the calibre of Gene Vincent, Alma Cogan, Frankie Lymon, Lonnie Donegan, Brenda Lee and Dion, as well as US acts hoping to extend their success beyond the domestic market, this 3CD set devotes one disc to each year from 1957 to 1959, and will be followed by a companion set covering the years 1960-1962. During his career, which spanned six decades, he created some of the finest and most critically acclaimed films ever made, for which he received any number of awards, and which are still hailed as classics. Hitchcock was a master too of choosing the right composers to score his celluloid creations, and the music was often as important as any other feature in his completed picture. Working regularly with esteemed music-writers such as Bernard Herrmann, Dimitri Tiomkin, Franz Waxman and Lyn Murray, the movie going public considered his choice in this area as important as that of his leading actors and actresses. This collection brings together five original, full soundtrack albums for Hitchcock films, along with numerous themes for others of his classic creations Totaling nearly five hours of music over four discs, this compilation offers a unique experience by isolating the scores from their original setting, thereby allowing the listener to hear them in unfamiliar surrounds.

“Fats” Sadi Pol Lallemand, was born in Andenne, Belgium, October 23, 1927. He chose the name “Sadi” because he disliked his last name, which means “the German” in French. From the age of 10 he presented a xylophone act as an attraction in circuses and in music halls.He fell in love with the swing music of Louis Armstrong in his early teens and, after hearing Lionel Hampton, switched to the vibraphone. Due to his technique and modern approach, Sadi was the quintessential European vibraphonist of the 50s. In his beginnings, his style was indebted to Hampton, but as he assimilated the irresistible and evolving influence of Milt Jackson, his music became a true reflection of himself, generous and overflowing with swing.
