The Fourmost were a British merseybeat band from the 1960s. They, like many similar bands from Liverpool, signed with Brian Epstein in 1963 and ended up on the Parlophone label, with George Martin as record producer. With some John Lennon-Paul McCartney compositions, the Fourmost had some success, especially with John's 'Hello Little Girl'. Their biggest hit was 'A Little Lovin' (#6 in Britain in 1964). After that, though, the lack of a songwriter within the band kept the Fourmost from achieving the same popularity that others achieved during the late 1960s, and they soon stopped recording, instead touring on the cabaret circuit. This 33 track single CD features the two afore mentioned tracks plus lots more.

Arguably the best music Bob Marley & the Wailers ever made was with legendary Jamaican producer Lee "Scratch" Perry. The collaboration between Perry and the Wailers began in the summer of 1970 and ran at a white heat through 1971 into the early part of 1972, and the body of work produced is impressive for both its quantity and quality.

Although a psychedelic record , this album turns out to be the first progressive rock album ever made along with the Moody Blues's Days Of Future Past and Procol Harum's debut (even if the original vinyl did not have Whiter Shade Of Pale), two years before the Crimson King's In the Court of the Crimson King. Yes , without this record most of the progressive masterpieces probably would've never come out in the form we know them. One of the main flaws is the muddy sound recording qualty but we are in 1967!

Wonderland is full of magic and myth. Containing exclusively works commissioned by The King’s Singers across their 55 years; the album celebrates their trademark musical storytelling; with no shortage of comedy. György Ligeti’s six Nonsense Madrigals; each setting playful children’s poetry or extracts from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland; provide a musical spine to the album; commemorating 100 years since the composer’s birth in 1923.

Though influenced by the British Invasion, The Guess Who were purely Canadian rockers. The band scored a string of Top Ten hits in the late ’60s and early ’70s, including the psychedelic-romantic smash “These Eyes” and the riff-rocking anthem “American Woman”. The band was a huge success in the States and even performed at President Nixon’s inaugural ball (with the acerbic “American Woman” conspicuously omitted from the set list). Burton Cummings’ throaty baritone vocals and guitarist Randy Bachman’s theatrical riffs gave the band their versatile sound – and their rocking classics sound as vital today as they did when they were first released. This Dutton Vocalion’s reissue combines a pair albums from 1970 “American Woman” and “Share The Land”, remastered from the Original Master tapes by Michael J. Dutton.

Describing their sound as "light, happy music", Bo Donaldson And The Heywoods were a 1970s pop act who scored the massive hit single Billy Don't Be A Hero. Originally formed in Cincinatti, Ohio in 1965 by keyboard player Robert 'Bo' Donaldson, they were inspired by the British beat invasion and the summery, melodic West Coast groups of the era and worked as an opening act for Herman's Hermits and The Box Tops. Getting their big break when they supported The Osmonds, they had minor success with singles Special Someone and Deeper And Deeper, but it wasn't until Billy Don't Be A Hero came out in 1974 that they became major stars. Originally a UK number one for Nottingham R&B group Paper Lace, the song was about a young man who leaves his lover to enrol in the army. With the controversial Vietnam War raging at the time it struck a poignant chord and went on to top the US charts, sold over 3.5 million copies and landed the band appearances on the hugely popular television shows American Bandstand and Action 74. Follow-up singles Who Do You Think You Are and The Heartbreak Kid also made the top 40, but a turn to country music towards the end of the decade made little impact and they split in 1980.
