The Cardigans compilation album, The Rest Of The Best - Vol. 1, covers some of the band's recordings released as B-sides on singles, soundtracks and bonus tracks on Japanese, French and UK versions of their albums between 1994-2006. The volume was compiled by The Cardigans and remastered by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound. The artwork is created based on photos taken by the photographer Martin Bogren, who worked with the band from the very beginning. CD with 16-page booklet included."We are delighted to release these compilations. Songs that for various reasons were left out of our studio albums. Now our audience can listen through all B-sides in chronological order and it's a pure joy to reminisce all the way back to 1993. It's almost like a forgotten record, or rather four. We hope you'll enjoy the 13-year ride!" - The Cardigans

This recording, Forward!, is a special collaboration between a collective of stellar young musicians, The Dam Jawn, and their beloved mentor, Dick Oatts. This is a unique project in that it features imaginative and evocative compositions by all five members of The Dam Jawn. Special guest Oatts fits seamlessly into the ensemble. With five composers, the music has a wonderful variety of grooves, colors, and moods; yet all fit together into a collective group sound. The writing and playing merit repeated listening to this superb recording.

Six weeks after the B-52s released their brilliant first album in the hot new wave summer of 1979, they found themselves on-stage in Boston opening for Talking Heads. Some brilliant person decided it would be a good night to record the band; some less brilliant person buried the tape in the Warner Bros. vault for decades. Finally released in 2015 as Live! 8-24-1979, the performance includes songs from both the first album and Wild Planet, and features the B-52s ripping heartily through the songs like they were dedicated to giving the crowd the night of their lives. Decades later the effect is still the same.

The colorful pop group Voice of the Beehive was led by sisters Tracey Bryn and Melissa Brooke Belland, California natives whose father Bruce Belland was a member of the chart-topping 1950s vocal group the Four Preps. After a showbiz childhood which included roles in a number of television commercials, elder sister Tracey eventually relocated to London; Melissa later joined her overseas, where they became regular hangers-on in the British rock scene.

The Trashmen's defining moment, 1963's "Surfin' Bird," is perhaps the ultimate lightning-in-a-bottle record. Their first true studio recording, it captures the group's interminable energy and mastery of live performance. But it also is the culmination of spirit and experiment that turned it into something new and, from the perspective of 50 years, unique.
The sound wasn't one that you could build a career by repeating, but it hasn't mattered; the swaggering performance has proven to be a confident, hustling agent for the band and their history, leading the remaining members on tours all over the world in recent years and gaining them repeated exposure on television and in movies.

One of the most important bands originating from England's R&B scene during the early '60s, the Animals were second only to the Rolling Stones in influence among R&B-based bands in the first wave of the British Invasion. The Animals formed in Newcastle upon Tyne in the early 1960s. The band moved to London upon finding fame in 1964. The Animals were known for their gritty, bluesy sound and deep-voiced frontman Eric Burdon, as exemplified by their signature song and transatlantic No. 1 hit single, "House of the Rising Sun", as well as by hits such as "We Gotta Get Out of This Place", "It's My Life", "I'm Crying" and "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood". The band balanced tough, rock-edged pop singles against rhythm and blues-orientated album material and were part of the British Invasion of the US.
