Covering Christian art from 200 CE (common era) to the present, the author reveals that Jesus, the Teacher of Righteousness mentioned in the Dead Sea Scrolls, is a personification of the Holy Mushroom, Amanita muscaria. The mushroom, Rush argues, symbolizes numerous mind-altering substances—psychoactive mushrooms, cannabis, henbane, and mandrake—used by the early, more experimentally minded Christian sects.

Calenture is the fourth studio album by Australian rock group The Triffids, it was released in November 1987 and saw them explore themes of insanity, deception and rootlessness—the title refers to a fever suffered by sailors during long hot voyages. It reached No. 32 on the Australian Kent Music Report Albums Chart. In November 1987, it reached No. 24 on the Swedish Albums Chart, in May 1988 it peaked at No. 25 on the New Zealand Albums Chart. The album spawned three singles, "Bury Me Deep in Love" (1987), "Trick of the Light" and "Holy Water" (both in 1988). The latter track was recorded with American producer Craig Leon.

Celebrated Aussie musician Mark Seymour has compiled a new retrospective full-length album celebrating 30 years of songwriting ahead of embarking on a six-date national tour from late June. Roll Back The Stone 1985-2016 collects Seymour's best-known and best-loved works — yes, including Hunters & Collectors favourites such as Throw Your Arms Around Me, When The River Runs Dry and the evergreen Holy Grail — re-recorded and reimagined with his current backing band, The Undertow. The album was laid down over three nights in the Scrap Museum, at Richmond's Bakehouse Studios, and draws on the complementary talents of instrumentalists Cameron McKenzie (guitars), Peter Maslen (drums) and John Favaro (bass) to imbue Seymour's songs, no matter their physical age, with a renewed sense of purpose and immediacy.
