Revealing a London rarely seen on the big screen, Blue Story is an ambitious film. “It’s like a modern-day Romeo and Juliet,” writer, director and musician Rapman tells Apple Music. “It focuses on gangs and the peer pressure around knife crime. I wanted everyone to see that there’s more to life than getting caught up in the streets, to watch it and think, ‘You know what? I’m going to put this knife down. What I’m fighting for is not really as important as I thought it was.’” The accompanying album he’s curated, with JAY-Z’s Roc Nation team, is just as ambitious, featuring original tracks inspired by the movie from some of the UK’s biggest artists.

Paramount Music has released a soundtrack album for the family comedy Playing with Fire. The album features the film’s original music composed by Nathan Wang (She’s All That, The Game Plan, You Again, Chinese Zodiac). Playing with Fire is directed by Andy Fickman and stars John Cena, Keegan-Michael Key, John Leguizamo, Judy Greer, Brianna Hildebrand, Christian Convery, Finley Rose Slater and Tyler Mane. The movie revolve around a group of elite firefighters who have their lives, jobs and even their fire depot turned upside down when they are faced with their most challenging job yet: babysitting. The comedy is being released in theaters nationwide this weekend by Paramount Pictures.

Paramount Music will release a soundtrack album for the horror thriller Pet Sematary. The album features the film’s original music composed by Golden Globe nominee Christopher Young (Spider-Man 3, Hellraiser, The Shipping News, Drag Me to Hell, Ghost Rider). Also included is Starcrawler’s cover of the Ramones’ title song from the 1989 film adaptation. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 5 and will be available to download here. A physical version is in the works from Waxwork Records. Pet Sematary is directed by Kevin Kölsch & Dennis Widmyer and stars Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz and John Lithgow. The movie is based on Stephen King’s classic novel and follows a young family who, after moving to a rural home, discover they are living next to a creepy pet cemetery endowed with powers to reanimate whatever is buried on its grounds. The thriller is being released in theaters nationwide this weekend by Paramount Pictures.

I cannot possibly keep track of all the different genre names out there so I usually just give things a whirl and see how it meshes. Driving Slow Motion is described as a post-rock band that hails from Fort Worth, Texas. Arda is purely instrumental. Many people say they can’t get into an instrumental album but if you think of it, most of what we enjoy is based in instrumental music. For example, when you watch Star Wars, you easily recognize the background music. Or the infamous Halloween series theme…instrumental. Most TV shows or movies always have running instrumentation in the background and we barely pay heed to it. An instrumental piece serves to sink into your subconscious awareness.

The full details of the soundtrack album for the action thriller Gemini Man have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The LEGO Batman Movie, Genius, The Crown, Terminator Genisys, Home). A CD version will be released by La-La Land Records next week. Gemini Man is directed by Ang Lee and stars Will Smith, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Clive Owen and Benedict Wong. The movie centers on an elite assassin, who is suddenly targeted and pursued by a mysterious young operative that seemingly can predict his every move. The thriller is being released in theaters nationwide this weekend by Paramount Pictures.
