It’s with great excitement and much nostalgia, that today we have the pleasure of announcing a full length record’s worth of (circa. 2012) material from the real unsung heroes of the Geelong music scene; The Frowning Clouds. The band who started it all for what we refer to as the thriving music scene that currently remains in Geelong. Anti Fade for one, would not exist without The Frowning Clouds; the biggest musical influence a pimply teen growing up in Geelong could ever ask for.

Omnivore Recordings Announces Reissue of The Mighty Clouds Of Joy’s “Kickin’” LP | Coming Dec. 8th, 2023.1975 R&B, Gospel Classic Includes Single Edit of the #1 Billboard Disco Action Track “Mighty High” Plus Two Bonus Tracks. October 30, 2023: On December 8, Omnivore Recordings will release the reissue of The Mighty Clouds Of Joy’s 1975 R&B, Gospel classic album, Kickin’. This reissue contains the original album, plus the rare, single versions of the #1 hit “Mighty High” and the ever present “You Are So Beautiful.” Packaging contains a new essay from Tim Dillinger-Curenton, a music historian with a focus on the worlds of gospel, soul, contemporary Christian, and women’s music. Kickin’ is a look back at music evolution in the mid ’70s and demonstrates how music transcends genres.

The book gathers the invited talks to the XIII JENAM conference, organized this time by the European Astronomical Society (EAS) and the Spanish Astronomical Society (SEA), and hosted by the Instituto de Astrofísica de Andalucía (CSIC). All branches of astrophysics are encompassed from the largest scales and cosmology to the solar system and the Sun, through the galaxies and the stars, including a section on astronomical instrumentation. Very relevant experts from all over the world speak in a single book about the most recent, exciting results from their fields in a way which is useful for both researchers in these fields and colleagues working in other disciplines. The book is accompanied by a CD-ROM including the remaining contributions of the meeting in PDF format, hence opening a wide panorama of what is going on in astrophysics nowadays.

This book clears up some confusion in the field of star formation and proposes a solution to a problem that remains unsolved for more than a decade. Observations of molecular clouds show that dense filaments are the sites of present-day star formation, and it is thus necessary to understand the filament formation process because the filament is an initial condition in a star formation process.
