I gave myself wretched headaches to finish this book. (I suffered a head injury a few years back and reading more than 15 miutes is painful.). I found this book incredibly readable. It reads like a juicy conversation between your girlfriend. There is a poignant universality to this book. Every culture deals with its values, customs, and norms in its own way. In the West, we have come to accept (albeit not in all religious practices) people living as a different gender from that which they were born.
