Spearheaded by a massive U.K. buzz, England's press darlings of 1989-1990, London Quireboys, unleashed Little Bit of What You Fancy on an unsuspecting U.S. audience in 1990. Drenched in good time, barroom, whiskey-soaked swagger, the album is a veritable throwback to the '70s in the best possible sense. To put it in laymen's terms, initially, the Black Crowes were to the the Rolling Stones what London Quireboys were to Rod Stewart and the Faces. Because not only did singer Spike Gray's "weathered" voice wear an uncanny resemblance to one Rod Stewart, Quireboys went so far as to hire former Stewart guitarist and engineer Jim Cregan and George Tutko to man the boards on their freshman effort.

Dirty Dancing was a late-'80s phenomenon that will not die. The movie was a smash and the soundtrack was too, spawning several hit singles as well as causing a lot of overdue interest in some great oldies. The Legacy edition of Dirty Dancing is a remastered, resequenced, and redesigned revisitation of the soundtrack and the music from the film. In fact, the disc presents all the songs that appeared in the movie in the order that they appeared and includes a handful of songs from the film's score. The music is a blend of '60s classics like the always wonderful "Be My Baby" by the Ronettes, "Cry to Me" by Solomon Burke, and "Love Is Strange" by Mickey & Sylvia and emotional '80s tunes from Eric Carmen, Tom Johnston, the film's leading man Patrick Swayze, and of course Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes, whose "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" was a mega-hit that was everywhere in the late '80s. The songs from the score are from the dance instruction scenes at the beginning of the movie, and while they aren't much to listen to, they do help the flow of the soundtrack. Anyone who loved the film and the soundtrack will love this disc as well. [The 20th anniversary edition includes all the music from the film, along with a previously unreleased piece of Michael Lloyd's score, "Gazebo Waltz."]

"A Bit of Liverpool" is the 3rd studio album by The Supremes, released in the fall of 1964 on the Motown label. It was produced by Berry Gordy with Hal Davis and Marc Gordon doing the mixing. The Supremes performed The Beatles' "Eight Days a Week" on several television shows including Shindig and Hullabaloo, though the song did not make the album. The album just missed the Top 20 in the U.S., peaking at #21. While not quite as prolific as their pop counterparts at that time, The Beatles, The Supremes enjoyed three albums charting simultaneously in 1964–1965. For its release in the UK, the album was titled "With Love (From Us to You)".
