I Still Do is the twenty-third solo studio album by the English rock musician Eric Clapton. The album was released on 20 May, 2016 through the independent Bushbranch Records/Surfdog Records label. The album features a combination of new material written by Clapton as well as cover versions of classic songs, contemporary tunes and influences interpreted in his own style. For the album, Clapton reunited with record producer Glyn Johns and had the album's artwork painted by Sir Peter Blake who also previously worked with Clapton.[3] The album follows up to Clapton's global hit album The Breeze: An Appreciation of JJ Cale released in summer of 2014, his compilation album Forever Man released in spring of 2015 and his also commercially successful concert film and live album Slowhand at 70 – Live at the Royal Albert Hall released in late 2015.
Since the kick-off early 2012 of “K(ing) (O)f (T)he W(orld)” (Erwin Java – guitar, Fokke de Jong – drums/backing vocals, Govert van der Kolm – Hammond/backing vocals and Ruud Weber – lead vocals/bass) things have developed prosperously for this Dutch blues-, rhythm & roots band. In less then 4 years the band built a solid name in the blues scene through the release of 2 studio – and 1 live album (Can’t go home 2013, KOTW 2014 and Live at Paradiso 2015). All 3 albums scored sheer positive reviews as well in the Dutch as in the foreign music press. But also a great live reputation has been built up through shows at the North Sea Jazz Festival, Rhythm & Blues Night Groningen, Bluesrock Tegelen and the Highlandsfestival.
"The road was our school. It gave us a sense of survival; it taught us everything we know and out of respect, we don't want to drive it into the ground…or maybe it's just superstition but the road has taken a lot of the great ones. It's a goddam impossible way of life" - Robbie Robertson, from the movie The Last Waltz, quoted in the box set…
These performances of the three most popular examples of Mozart's youthful sacred music represent a golden age of The English Concert - a period-instrument ensemble founded by harpsichordist and conductor Trevor Pinnock in 1973. They excelled in blowing away the cobwebs from fascinating repertoire from Purcell to Haydn during their fruitful years of collaboration with Deutsche Grammophon's Archiv label. This album also features a choir that is a veritable Who's Who of the booming British early music choral scene in the early 1990s.
