Jack White and Third Man Records aren't known for being conventional - so this summer, when the White Stripes’ third album White Blood Cells turns 20 - instead of a reissue - they will release White Blood Cells XX - an anniversary companion to the original album. The release will be part of the label's Vault Package.

In 1997 a brother and sister climbed into the third floor attic of their Southwest Detroit family homestead and bashed out a primitive cover of David Bowie’s “Moonage Daydream.” In an alternate reality, it’s all they ever do musically. The brother leads a spartan life as a dutiful upholsterer and the sister finishes culinary school and continues to make heartwarming food.

Third Man Records Vault variation on [m1850814], with third LP of B-sides. Despite the title difference, the two standard LPs are from the same pressing as the standard edition and share the same catalogue number. Housed in a gatefold sleeve with a standard pocket for one LP, and a wide pocket for two LPs. Includes an insert with credits. With their unlikely but fascinating mix of arty concepts and raw sounds, the White Stripes were among the leaders of the early-2000s garage rock revival and helped define the sound of 21st century rock as the decade progressed. Jack and Meg White's clever use of limitations – from their lineup to their instrumentation to their red, white, and black color scheme – maximized their creativity, allowing them to bring a surprising number of facets to their seemingly back-to-basics approach.

The White Stripes will reissue their 2003 album, Elephant, on March 31 for its 20th anniversary. The revamp comes with a live album recorded in 2003 at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom. By the time RCA Records and producer Felton Jarvis arrived to start recording some of his shows on August 21, 1969, Elvis Presley had already conquered Las Vegas. As another piece of his comeback that started with the 1968 ELVIS television special and continued with his first Memphis recordings since the mid-1950s, Elvis had been performing to sold-out crowds in the newly-opened International Hotel's main showroom since July 31. With a grueling two-shows-a-night, seven-days-a-week, schedule, Elvis had performed over 40 triumphant concerts in just three weeks. He was starting the last week of an engagement that, outside of four shows for small studio audiences during his TV special, represented his first live concerts in nearly nine years.
