This is the story of a hen named Sprout. No longer content to lay eggs on command, only to have them carted off to the market, she glimpses her future every morning through the barn doors, where the other animals roam free, and comes up with a plan to escape into the wild—and to hatch an egg of her own.

A modern South Korean fable by Sun-mi Hwang, tells the story of Sprout, a plucky, ambitious and charismatic hen who lives in a coop. However, Sprout is not content to lay eggs for others in a tiny cage for the farmer. She has a dream of hatching one egg and raising the chick herself. Sprout can see the animals in the barnyard who are allowed to roam free, and she wishes to join them and escape captivity. Once she is declared useless by the farmer and his wife, she is taken from the coop and left for dead. Sprout, though, has other ideas.

The Guess Who - Track Record (1991)  Music

The Guess Who - Track Record (1991)
FLAC (tracks), Lossless / MP3 320 kbps | 1:59:44 | 920 / 337 Mb
Genre: Rock, Blues Rock, Folk Rock, Psychedelic Rock

Even with the release of 1997's three-disc The Ultimate Collection, which is poorly sequenced and has few rarities, Track Record remains the definitive collection for the Guess Who. It hits all the band's commercial highs, and has two sets of song by song liner notes written by producer Jack Richardson and Burton Cummings. Flexible yet distinctive, everything they played was unmistakably the Guess Who: the aggressively melodic "Laughing," the quasi-jazz of "Undun," the defiant "Hand Me Down World."

While the Guess Who did have several hits in America, they were superstars in their home country of Canada during the 1960s and early '70s. However, further American success eluded the Guess Who until the 1969 Top Ten hit "These Eyes"; the recording session for the accompanying album, "Wheatfield Soul", was paid for by producer Jack Richardson, who mortgaged his house to do so. "Canned Wheat" produced three Top 40 singles later that year. This Dutton Vocalion's reissue combines both these albums, remastered from the Original Master tapes by Michael J. Dutton.

The Guess Who - Rockin' / The Best Of The Guess Who, Volume II (1972/1973) [Reissue 2019]
PS3 Rip | SACD ISO | DST64 2.0 & 5.1 > 1-bit/2.8224 MHz | 79:57 minutes | Front/Rear Covers | 3,77 GB
or DSD64 2.0 Stereo (from SACD-ISO to Tracks.dsf) > 1-bit/2.8224 MHz | 80:21 min | F/R Covers | 1,95 GB
or FLAC Stereo (carefully converted & encoded to tracks) 24bit/96 kHz | 80:21 min | F/R Covers | 1,81 GB
2 LP on 1 SACD | Features Stereo and Quadrophonic Surround Sound | Vocalion # CDSML 8562

Rockin' takes The Guess Who into a new direction in 1972 primarily featuring the songwriting of Burton Cummings, striding away from their bread and butter Top 40 hit parade. But this album never received the same level of notoriety as the first four Guess Who albums, including the first one without Randy Bachman, Share the Land. This strange exercise has its best parts showing up on The Best of the Guess Who, Vol. 2, which is now restored on Hybrid Quad SACD from the original masters by Michael J. Dutton.

Artificial Paradise is the tenth studio album by the Canadian rock band The Guess Who. It was released by RCA Records in 1973. This was the first album by the group to feature bassist Bill Wallace. Musically, Artificial Paradise finds The Guess Who showcasing a variety of styles: rockers ("Orly", "All Hashed Out," "Rock and Roller Steam"), ballads ("Samantha's Living Room," "Lost and Found Town"), and even world music ("Hamba Gahle-Usalang Gahle"). The album is likely best remembered for its record jacket and inner sleeve, which is an extensive lampoon of direct mail advertising. The cover mentions The Guess Who only in passing.
