Thievery Corporation: The Mirror Conspiracy

Thievery Corporation played a historic concert in 2017 at The JFK Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. The show saw their songs re-imagined with orchestral arrangements from some of today's leading young classical composers. The show is now legendary, and those fortunate to attend heard Thievery Corporation in an entirely new way. To honor this show and inspiration it provided, Hilton and Garza have created "Symphonik" - recorded with Prague’s FilmHarmonic Orchestra along with Thievery Corporation's live band and engineering and co-production by Gianmaria Conti.

"The innovation, spirit and power of Jamaican music is a constant source of creative manna for us," explains Eric Hilton of DC-based electronic band Thievery Corporation about their new album 'The Tenple of I & I'. "On the musical map, Jamaica is an entire continent. Frankly, we could have spent a year there, soaking up the vibes in the air and the strength and resilience resonating from the people. And for us, the only way to connect with this rich source of inspiration was to work in that environment - to feel the pulse of the place."

The Red Kite guitar, named after the bird of prey indigenous to the part of Wales Toby lives, was made from Madagascar Ebony and Engelmann Spruce and was set up to play in unique tunings. It was decorated with a mother-of-pearl inlay Red Kite design on the fretboard.

Thievery Corporation announce the release of Treasures from the Temple, a companion LP to the band’s chart-topping 2017 album, Temple of I & I. The 12-track compendium includes a trove of original recordings and remixes from the band’s Temple sessions at Geejam Studios in Port Antonio, Jamaica with vocal appearances by LouLou Ghelichkhani, Mr. Lif, Sitali, Racquel Jones, Natalia Clavier and Notch.

Will Rast (Antibalas, Thievery Corporation, Ocote Soul Sounds) and The Funk Ark grab the best parts from some of the most American genres of music. There’s the bluegrass-like slide guitar, the precision lines from fusion jazz, and of course, the locked down thick pocket taken from the style of music they bare in their name. With all of this comes the sophistication and swagger that one would expect from a group so steeped in these expansive musical traditions.

The Stranger in the Mirror is the debut album from the Jake Mason Trio. Stepping out from the driver's seat of Cookin' On 3 Burners, Mason dives firmly into the '60s organ trio sound making a record that is both delicate and fiery. Featuring James Sherlock (guitar) and Danny Fischer (drums) the trio weave their way through bluesy soul-jazz, blazing vigor and soundtrack-esque territory. "I love the place where Jazz and Soul meets," says Mason. "It has a simplicity that is so warm and welcoming combined with a complexity that is exciting and makes you move."

"Tommy", The Who's defining, breakthrough concept album - a full-blown rock opera about a deaf, dumb and blind boy that launched the band to international superstardom, was originally released in May 1969. The Who were at a career crossraods, they were known mainly as a singles band but this project launched them as a serious 'albums band' and has now sold over 20 million copies as well as regularly turning up in lists of the most influential albums of all time.

Singer/songwriter and guitarist Raul Midón is on an undeniable roll. After GRAMMY® Award nominations for his two previous Artistry Music/Mack Avenue Music Group releases - Bad Ass & Blind and If You Really Want, each for Best Jazz Vocal Album - he returns with his 11th studio album and fourth for the label: The Mirror, to be released March 13, 2020. The Mirror finds Midón breaking new ground for himself, including two entrancing solo spoken-word pieces ("If I Could See" and "One Day Without War").

Sendecki is considered one of the most powerful and creative soloists in the European jazz scene. The Süddeutsche Zeitung praised him as a "master of Emotion, creating a poignant musical virtuosity.
