Bathory was a Swedish extreme metal band formed in Vällingby in 1983 and named after the infamous Hungarian countess, Elizabeth Báthory. The band's frontman and main songwriter was Quorthon (Thomas Forsberg). Bathory's first four albums were "the blueprint for Scandinavian black metal". The band departed from this style on their fifth album, Hammerheart (1990), which is often cited as the first Viking metal album. Bathory continued in the Viking metal style throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, although the band returned to thrash metal with the albums Requiem (1994) and Octagon (1995). Bathory ended when Quorthon died from heart failure in 2004.
The follow-up to 2017's conceptual Jomsviking, Berserker sees the melodic death metal legends forgo the narrative route in favor of a more straightforward, though no less uncompromising approach to their craft. The 12-track set, which evokes the might and melody of Twilight of the Thunder God, marks the studio debut of drummer Jocke Wallgren, who joined Amon Amarth in 2017 after the departure of longtime kitman Fredrik Andersson.
Now it is time for them to unleash the brand-new album in 2019, with more live shows planned for their next phase of world domination. So, may we invite you to join us on a ‘DAYTRIP TO NARNIA’. Their comeback album “Thunder rider” was released by NoiseArt Records in January 2013 and proved one thing clearly: MAJESTY don`t simply stand for finest teutonic true metal – they also struck gold when it comes to composing unforgettable anthems! “Banners high” is also the first-ever concept album in the band`s history and tells a fantasy story penned by MAJESTY singer Tarek „MS“ Maghary himself. Tarek comments: „We`re very proud to release our first concept album. The story deals with oppressed people who march into battle to finally be free. We definitely didn`t want to do one of those concept albums with silly, boring audiobook parts and thousands of intros. The story is being conveyed by ten heavy metal anthems which could easily stand alone too. Which is why you can simply listen to the album without delving into the concept too much. If you want to though, you`ll experience an incredibly epic world where honor, friendship, self-sacrifice and love of freedom still mean something.“
Rapoon is the ethno-ambient solo project of Zoviet France co-founder Robin Storey, operating out of the United Kingdom since 1992. Robin was born in 1955 in Cumbria, England. While studying fine arts at Sunderland University, he began pursuing a long-held interest in sound manipulation by taking classes in electronic and experimental composition, additionally joining with friends to perform the works of Karlheinz Stockhausen (a key influence, as were the krautrock bands of the early 1970s). In 1979 Storey formed the pioneering industrial group Zoviet France, remaining a member until 1993; the year previous, Storey issued the first Rapoon album, Dream Circle, its entrancing fusion of Indian ragas, African rhythms…
