One of the better garage rock recordings of its period, the dozen songs here, cut for Justice Records after the band had placed in the second runner-up spot in a local Battle of the Bands, are full of surprises. For starters, the presence of two rhythm guitarists gives the group a rich, thick-textured sound. The other big surprise is the balance struck between the organist and lead guitarist: Monte Allison and David Marlette make a perfect team of soloists. Allison's organ shifts effortlessly from background to foreground, and Marlette's guitar solos show an engaging, inventive sense of melody. The presence of a handful of very pleasing original numbers only enhances the value of this CD. Excellent sound, too.

Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats present their 3rd studio album, The Future. Nathaniel once again demonstrates that he is a writer and performer of the highest order, who seems to be smack dab in the middle of what we all hope is an extended creative peak. The album showcases Nathaniel's unique observations of our world and people's ongoing struggle in learning how to better understand each other. The Future was produced by Brad Cook (Bon Iver, Kevin Morby, Waxahatchee, Hiss Golden Messenger) and R.M.B. The latter being the production team of Nathaniel himself, Patrick Meese, and James Barone (Beach House).

A fun-loving, melody-driven, AOR/classic rock outfit based out of Helsingborg, Sweden, the Night Flight Orchestra has ties to a wide array of established hard rock bands, including Soilwork, Arch Enemy, Darkane, and Spiritual Beggars, among others. Emerging in the late 2000s, the band earned a Swedish Grammy (Grammis) nomination in 2017 for their third album, Amber Galactic, with similar acclaim being garnered by subsequent efforts like Sometimes The World Ain't Enough (2018) and Aeromantic (2020).
