Francesco Giro, Roma 1963. Laureato in filosofia morale, esperto di bioetica. Dal 2000 al 2005 è consigliere regionale del Lazio nel gruppo di Forza Italia. Nel 2006 viene eletto alla Camera dei deputati; è membro della Commissione bicamerale per l'indirizzo generale e la vigilanza dei servizi radiotelevisivi. Nello stesso anno viene nominato da Silvio Berlusconi Coordinatore regionale del Lazio e Commissario di Forza Italia per la Città di Roma. Rieletto alla Camera dei deputati nel 2008 nella lista del Popolo della Libertà, è nominato Sottosegretario di Stato ai beni e alle attività culturali del IV Governo Berlusconi. Eletto due volte senatore nel 2013 e nel 2018, attualmente è membro del Consiglio di Presidenza di Palazzo Madama e della Commissione Cultura, Scuola, Spettacolo e Sport del Senato. Già autore per i tipi della Gangemi Editore del volume “La Città Chiara”.
