Waiting for the Sun is the third studio album by the American rock band the Doors, recorded from February to May 1968 and released in July 1968. It became the band's first and only No. 1 album, spawning their second US number one single, "Hello, I Love You". It also became the band's first hit album in the UK, where it peaked at No. 16 on the chart.

Rocky IV is the original motion picture soundtrack to the movie of the same name. It was originally released in 1985 on the Scotti Brothers label. The soundtrack was hugely successful on the strength of two top-five singles, Survivor's "Burning Heart" (which Sylvester Stallone personally commissioned for the movie and reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100) and James Brown's "Living in America", as well as Robert Tepper's lone top-40 hit, "No Easy Way Out". It reached the top ten on the Billboard 200 album chart and was certified Platinum by the RIAA.

Follow-up volumes appeared in 1993 and 1996, extending the time period to 1979 and with additional songs from the 1972-76 period, available on cassette or CD (ALL 25 volumes were issued in both formats). Each volume has twelve songs. Despite the greater capacity of compact discs, the running time of each of the volumes is no longer than the limit of vinyl records in the 1970s, from 38 to 45 minutes long.

The Doors were an American rock band formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, with vocalist Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, guitarist Robby Krieger, and John Densmore on drums. The band got its name, at Morrison's suggestion from the title of Aldous Huxley's book The Doors of Perception, which itself was a reference to a quote made by William Blake, "If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite." What George Harrison was to the Beatles and John Entwistle was to the Who, Tobin Sprout was to Guided by Voices a talented songwriter in a band that already had more celebrated and prolific tunesmiths. Given Robert Pollard's ability to crank out songs at a pace unknown to mere mortals, Sprout's songs rarely got the prominence they deserved during his time with GbV, but he was capable of generating a sweet wistfulness and yearning that his beery bandmate couldn't touch. Since the "classic lineup" of Guided by Voices collapsed in 2014, Sprout has laid low as a musician and songwriter, but 2017's The Universe and Me is a glorious reminder that he hasn't lost his touch.
