Morgana Lefay remains to this day, a hidden gem of a band in the heap of turds that often over run what is called power metal these days. With super heavy riffs, raspy powerful vocals and shredding solos they are paralleled by few. This album, The Secret Doctrine, is the third from the band and shows them improving on their sound but running long on ideas in the end. Starting with another doomy mid-paced opener in "Rooms of Sleep" the album doesn't light a fire to begin with but begins at a high level regardless. Much like their debut the album has it's ups and downs but here we find more highlights along the way.
Since the success of SABATON, the world knows, that Falun is the birthplace of many mighty warriors. But the brave Swedes from TWILIGHT FORCE now prove with their second album »Heroes Of Mighty Magic«, that epic metal doesn't necessarily need tanks and can also be played with a bow and arrow. The album cover has a feeling of Yngvie Malmsteen’s Trilogy album.
The full title is "Symphony of the Damned - Re-symphonised." It is a re-recording of the band's debut album, originally released in 1990 when they were known as Morgana Lefay, printed on vinyl in only 537 copies. The last four songs are bonus tracks that were not part of the original recording. The guys decided to go back in the studio in 99 as Lefay and give it a fresh take and release it to the masses.
"Knowing Just As I" is the second album for Swedish heavy metal band Morgana Lefay. This time there are highlights to be found all over with some of the best songs ever on a power metal release. Pumping out their doomy, thrashy version of power metal the guys of ML unleash a beast of an album.
Since their inception, the band's every release had piled ambition upon ambition, and after pausing for reflection with 1996's semi-retrospective Past Present Future, the group resumed their career with a full-fledged concept album later the same year called "Maleficium". Morgana Lefay isn't the typical power metal band, having ridicously high-pitched vocals, fast riffing, guitar melodies and double bass drum that will drill your head until it reaches your brain and leaves you in a coma. This album is considered as magnum opus of Morgana Lefay.
With their fifth album, »Peace«, GRAVEYARD guides the listener through an ever-changing musical landscape filled with their trademark take on classic rock. From the opening track’s blistering declaration that ‘It Ain’t Over Yet’ to the final note of heart beating bass on the epic and moody rocker ‘Low (I Wouldn’t Mind)’ the band manage to squeeze out every last creative drop of what there is to know, hear and love about GRAVEYARD in 2018.
