Borge Fredriksson was an underexposed tenor saxophonist who was active in Sweden in the '50s and '60s. Although his complex, abstract style of post-bop didn't bring him much commercial success during his lifetime, Fredriksson's music continued to be discovered by Scandinavian jazz players long after his death. Fredriksson recorded only one album as a leader, 1966's Intervall, and in the fall of 1968, he committed suicide at the age of 31. After Fredriksson's death, sheet music of his compositions went to pianist Bobo Stenson, who had been working with Fredriksson since 1963 and was in the rhythm section of Fredriksson's last group, along with bassist Palle Danielsson and drummer Fredrik Noren.

In the past, the members of the Oddgeir Berg Trio have remained in the background, acting as instrumentalists for renowned Scandinavian colleagues. With the release of Before Dawn, things are about to change. Their album instantly ranks as an excitingly different entry into the long list of piano trios. And despite their decades of combined experience, it sounds every bit as fresh and hungry as you'd expect from a debut. The sound of Before Dawn was sculpted at a very special place, the band's very own Bonker Studio in Oslo. Entering into this barely 30 square meters small space without windows and secured by a heavy metal door, feels like boarding a submarine.

Äppelknyckarjazz is the first studio album by Swedish Hip Hop Swing band Movits!. It was released on November 26, 2008 in Sweden and digitally on July 29, 2009 in USA. The title translates literally to "Apple Swiper Jazz" or more interpretively "Jazz For Apple Thieves" or "Music For Market Thieves".
