When Temple of the Dog released their lone album in the spring of 1991, it landed to little fanfare despite being a sterling example of how the Seattle scene could push itself. The end result of two songs Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell had written in memory of former roommate and friend, the late Mother Love Bone vocalist Andrew Wood, Temple of the Dog was populated by luminaries of Seattle's soon-to-be-grunge-explosion…
Since the kick-off early 2012 of “K(ing) (O)f (T)he W(orld)” (Erwin Java – guitar, Fokke de Jong – drums/backing vocals, Govert van der Kolm – Hammond/backing vocals and Ruud Weber – lead vocals/bass) things have developed prosperously for this Dutch blues-, rhythm & roots band. In less then 4 years the band built a solid name in the blues scene through the release of 2 studio – and 1 live album (Can’t go home 2013, KOTW 2014 and Live at Paradiso 2015). All 3 albums scored sheer positive reviews as well in the Dutch as in the foreign music press. But also a great live reputation has been built up through shows at the North Sea Jazz Festival, Rhythm & Blues Night Groningen, Bluesrock Tegelen and the Highlandsfestival.
Legacy's second reissue of Texas Flood, the 1983 debut from Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, now expands the album to two CDs, adding a complete concert given at Ripley's Music Hall in Philadelphia on October 20, 1983, four months after the record was released. On the first disc, an early version of "Tin Pan Alley (aka Roughest Place in Town)" is added to the original album but that is the only carry-over from the 1999 expansion. That disc also had three live cuts, but those were taken from a different 1983 concert, so this 2013 30th Anniversary Edition offers something completely new: an entire radio broadcast featuring SRV and Double Trouble at the peak of their power.
Universal Music pay tribute to the short but prolific musical life of enigmatic Glasgow blues-rocker Alex Harvey with the biggest-ever, career-spanning, cross-label collection of his work. A total of 217 fully remastered tracks (with much of the material from the original master tapes) includes 21 that are previously unreleased, and a further 59 that are appearing officially on CD for the first time.
