The Truth About Love is the sixth studio album by P!nk, released on September 14, 2012, by RCA Records. The Truth About Love samples rock music influences and is generally themed about relationships, breakups and the different stages and cases of love, while tackling issues of feminism, sexual prowess and social exclusion. It features guest artists Eminem, Lily Allen and Nate Ruess of American band Fun. In the United States, the album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.

P!nk is a fierce hard-rock goddess with the sassy-but-sweet heart of an R&B diva. She's also a dance-pop queen who tears up her glittering club jams with roaring punk riffs—and sounds like she's having a blast even when she's seriously pissed off. She clowns sexist bad boys with furious disses on “U + Ur Hand,” heals the pain of a breakup with a raging night out on the glam-rock banger “So What,” and delivers a toast to her fellow outsiders with the stomping club jam “Raise Your Glass.”

“Hurts 2B Human was sort of a pebble that rolled downhill and became this boulder,” P!nk told Beats 1 host Zane Lowe. “It just kept steamrolling.” In 2018, while touring her seventh album, Beautiful Trauma, the singer found herself in spontaneous recording sessions with musicians she’d never worked with before (Beck, Sia, Chris Stapleton, Cash Cash, Wrabel, Imagine Dragons’ Dan Reynolds, and many others). Eventually, she realized she'd made album number eight—a lightly political package of sentimental ballads and pregame bangers that feels like classic P!nk.
