Game Over! - U.D.O. is not doing things by halves. Precise, powerful, catchy and bursting of energy. And most notably: timeless. Game Over! - that's what rock icon Udo Dirkschneider (original voice of iconic band Accept) proclaims on his upcoming new U.D.O. record to be released in autumn. The statement behind has got many different meanings. But one thing becomes clear immediately: U.D.O. is not doing things by halves and so they give everything they have. During hundreds of shows worldwide, some of them in the most remote places of Russia and South-America, the band has become one unit and a conglomerate of passionate musicians and friends.
Even though U.D.O. is now approaching 70, he is still tireless and does not do things by halves. The live album "Live in Bulgaria 2020 - Pandemic Survival Show" was released in 2021 and he has also been active under the name DIRKSCHNEIDER AND THE OLD GANG. Now it's "Game Over". No, that doesn't mean he's retiring, but it's the title of the new U.D.O. album, which will be released in autumn 2021. album, which will be released in autumn 2021. Songs like "Metal Never Dies", "Kids And Guns" or "Prophecy" are precise, punchy, catchy and powerful. And they are one thing above all: timeless. All the songs on the album have a distinct character of their own, which is just as convincing today as it will be tomorrow.
German heavy metal legends U.D.O. are back at the starting line with album #19 (!), titled „Touchdown“, which is scheduled for release on August 25th. It’s astonishing, how iconic singer Udo Dirkschneider and his band, who just celebrated two important anniversaries last year (Udo’s 70th birthday, as well as 35 years of U.D.O. band history) now already come up with such a fresh, inspired new piece of heavy art – unmistakably making clear that slowing down has never been an option for them: U.D.O. continue their triumphant success and „Touchdown“ is another impressive addition to the band’s rich legacy.
U.D.O. return with the upcoming 5th live album of the heavy metal legend. The year 2020 faced many with tough challenges, but U.D.O. managed to play a great show under pandemic conditions in front of the breathtaking backdrop of the amphitheater in Plovdiv/Bulgaria, making it not only one of the world's grandest shows under Corona, but also certainly beyond compare…
The German metal gods U.D.O. roll over us with a heavyweight made of steel and metal better than ever! On August 31st 2018 the new album "Steelfactory" will be released worldwide. With "Steelfactory" U.D.O return to their core competence, clearly influenced by their past shows with DIRKSCHNEIDER, the songs in their rousingly simple straightness have a hymn character, as it is only known from the past. "Steelfactory" has become a timeless metal album and thus the impressive statement of a master of his craft. With its earthy, punchy and handmade sound - with the participation of the Danish producer Jacob Hansen (among others Volbeat) - "Steelfactory" meets the nerve of the time, which may be triggered again since the successful DIRKSCHNEIDER tour worldwide.
When Udo Dirkschneider sang lead with the West German metal band Accept, it was clear that AC/DC's Bon Scott was his primary influence. And the headbanger took his love of Scott with him when he departed Accept and formed his own band, Udo, in 1987. Though not as strong as his work with Accept, Faceless World is a decent album that employs mildly gothic imagery at times. Not content to simply crank up the volume and hit us with power chords, Dirkschneider and friends make melody a priority on "System of Life," "Stranger," "Blitz of Lightning" and other songs on this exuberant CD. Faceless World may not be Balls to the Wall (one of Accept's best releases), but it isn't anything to be ashamed of either. Who could have predicted that only three year's after Faceless World came out, this type of rock would have lost so much ground to alternative rock?
