Originally released on BBC Records in 1981, it has attracted a considerable cult following this century. The odd charity shop score aside, it has been impossible to find a copy for less than eye-watering sums (often selling for over £200) and, as such, it's an honour to present the first officially licensed vinyl reissue of this sublime record. Featuring expert liner notes written by Bill Brewster - perhaps the record's most notable champion - this lovingly curated release is limited to just 500 copies.

Like so many of the best adventures, the transatlantic trio of Irish drummer Stephen Davis and American trumpeter and pianist Ralph Alessi and Kris Davis grew organically out of a series of happy accidents… Steve Davis explains: "The group started with me writing some music originally for trumpet and piano. I had written other stuff for my London based group Human, which had a similar vibe but this music was more introvert, had lots of little hidden things within it. I won an Arts Council grant which enabled me to work on my writing and travel a bit, so I headed for New York.

Jack DeJohnette was born in 1942 and recently collaborated with Ambrosetti on his Cheers album of 2017; John Scofield, born in 1951, was in the studio with Ambrosetti in the 1980s (Movies) and again in 2017. The trio of 1956-born pianist Uri Caine was available in 2007 for the album The Wind. New in Ambrosetti's soundtrack oeuvre: Scott Colley, born in 1963. A rock-solid in bands from John Scofield, Joe Henderson, Phil Woods, Ravi Coltrane, and others since the 1990s, Colley fits in perfectly with this combination of strong jazz personalities; he is one himself.
