Well, it seems that musically and lyrically speaking, inspiration is a very close friend to the Doktor (aka Christian Koch).

Well, it seems that musically and lyrically speaking, inspiration is a very close friend to the Doktor (aka Christian Koch).

German act Vibravoid was formed in 2000, with a central core consisting of Christian Koch (vocals, guitar), Robert Braune (drums) and M. Lammert (bass). With the vibe of early Pink Floyd, Strawberry Alarm Clock, The Electric Prunes and Spacemen 3 running through their drugged-up veins, very own Vibravoid excel at synthesizing these influences into a heavy storm of psychedelic sounds, shapes, and colors.

The quintet’s debut LP is a gauzy web of otherworldy psych-organ, droning guitar fuzz, funky African and Eastern percussion and febrile modulations that explores the rarefied space rock landscape once mapped out by bands like Pink Floyd, Can, Brainticket and, more recently, Vibravoid. As you immerse yourself in the dramatic soundscape which unfolds over the course of these 9 songs, expect to be transported to the beautiful yet terrifying end of the universe depicted in outsider artist Eugene Von Bruenchenhein’s 1962 painting “Transmalinnia”, which adorns the cover. Set the controls, because hearing is believing.

This split album, which they cut to the chase by calling The Split Thing, brings together two of contemporary Space Rock’s hottest bands. From southern Russia, Vespero have released several albums on the R.A.I.G. label that keep getting better all the time. On The Split Thing they get 3 tracks, each between 7-9 minutes. From Germany, Zone Six have been around since 1998 with several lineups, all including the constant of Dave “Sula Bassana” Schmidt (who also heads up the Sulatron Records label). In the latest version of Zone Six Dave takes the drum seat, with Komet Lulu on bass (from their other current band Electric Moon), plus Rainer Neefe from the Pancakes on guitar and members of Vibravoid.
