The third volume of the Goldwax singles is the story of music industry decline. If not exactly riches to rags – Goldwax sales were never that good – it is the tale of an independent label slowly losing its way in an increasingly difficult environment. This was not just about a failure to sign talent, but about changes within the business, and that meant that it became more difficult for regional independents to survive and thrive.

EAC Rip | APE (*image+.cue+.log,scans) | Run Time: 55:02:33 | 16,2 Gb
Genre: Classical | Label: Decca Classics

This 53-CD set is more than the sum of its parts. While not all the performances and recordings are top-notch, the overall quality is very high and as a historical overview of a label known for its sonic as well as musical merits, it's full of treasures. The Mercury sound at its best is vivid and still sounds remarkable and many of these recordings - such as the marches, show tunes and orchestral showpieces conducted by Frederic Fennell - demonstrate this amply. But it's not all lollipops by any means.

Spoilers ahead for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 3. Midge may be a comic (and not a singer, like many people rudely assume), but that doesn't mean she doesn't appreciate good music. So, naturally, the soundtrack for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 3 is packed with nostalgic tunes — perhaps even more so than seasons past, as this marks the first time the series has incorporated original songs. These tracks, written by Curtis Moore and Tom Mizer, can be heard during the numerous performances Shy Baldwin gives while on tour with Midge. Shy is played by Leroy McClain, but the vocals actually come from Broadway singer Darius de Haas, so that's who you're hearing when Shy is on stage. Season 3 also includes an elaborate synchronized swimming number to a show tune classic, and even Sterling K. Brown gets a chance to sing.

Welcome to the third chapter of this exquisite compilation series that was launched wayback in 1995. The longevity may be the most obvious proof for its success - and quality! Not for nothing in the past years Future Sounds Of Jazz has been voted repeatedly one of the best compilation series of all times in English and German music magazines like Mixmag, Jockey Slot and Groove. While trends in downtempo music have altered and evolved since the inaugural installment of the Future Sounds of Jazz series, one thing has remained consistent: the series has provided quality compilations featuring some of electronic music's most respected downtempo producers alongside up-and-coming talent.
