Coming off the heels of pianist/composer Mathis Picard's new album Heat Of The Moment on La Reserve records, the Mathis Picard Trio (where Picard is joined by Savannah Harris on drums, Parker McAllister on bass, and a host of special guests) kick off their national release tour with a show in French expat Picard’s chosen hometown of NYC.

Once in a While is an album by American pop singer Johnny Mathis that was released on May 23, 1988, by Columbia Records and found him returning to the practice of covering contemporary hits but also mixing in lesser-known songs already recorded by other artists along with a few new ones ("Daydreamin'", "From a Whisper to a Scream", "Two Strong Hearts").

"I'm Coming Home" is an album by American pop singer Johnny Mathis that was released on September 21, 1973, by Columbia Records and was mainly composed of material written by the songwriting team of its producer, Thom Bell, and Linda Creed. Unlike several of the Mathis albums before it, I'm Coming Home relied primarily on new songs and included only two covers of established chart hits, both of which were by The Stylistics ("I'm Stone in Love with You" and "Stop Look and Listen to Your Heart"). The album made its first appearance on Billboard magazine's Top LP's & Tapes chart in the issue dated November 17, 1973, and remained there for 22 weeks, peaking at #115. It also began an 11-week run on the UK album chart on March 8, 1975, during which time it made it to #18. On July 1, 1975, the British Phonographic Industry awarded the album with Silver certification for sales of 60,000 units.

"The Christmas Music of Johnny Mathis: A Personal Collection" contains 14 highlights culled from the many holiday albums Johnny Mathis recorded for Columbia records over the years. Even though the collection spans several decades, it's remarkably consistent because Mathis' style stayed essentially the same, no matter what the current fads may have been. Also, the collection is strong simply because the compilers have selected many great performances, including "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas," "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year," "Silver Bells" and "Sleigh Ride." It comes close to being the definitive Mathis Christmas compilation, even if it's not necessarily the definitive Mathis Christmas album.

In a career spanning over 60 years, Johnny Mathis has always had an unerring ear for a song witness his new, 2017 album featuring his recordings of future standards by Adele, Bruno Mars, and Pharrell Williams. At the dawn of the 1970s, Mathis was celebrating the great songwriters of that day, too, with a double album entitled Johnny Mathis Sings the Music of Bacharach and Kaempfert.

Page brought the same style of lush orchestration he perfected with Barry White to these sets featuring songs by the top songwriters of the day including Neil Sedaka (“The Hungry Years”), Alan O’Day (“Do Me Wrong, But Do Me”), Stephen Sondheim (“Send in the Clowns”), Marvin Hamlisch (“One”), and the team of Michael Masserand Gerry Goffin (“Do You Know Where You’re Going To,” “I Always Knew I Had It in Me”).

Johnny Mathis is teamed with producer, arranger, and writer Thom Bell and his cohort, lyricist Linda Creed. Both became very popular for their works with the Spinners, Stylistics, and others. On this outing, Bell applies his ubiquitous arrangements to the dulcet yet captivating vocals of Mathis. The album did spawn one single in the title track, "I'm Coming Home." It peaked on the Billboard R&B and pop charts at 92 and 75, respectively. Its flow is as beguiling as a cool summer's night. Mathis even provides his own renditions of the seldom heard "I'm Stone in Love with You," "Life Is a Song Worth Singing," and "Stop, Look, Listen (To Your Heart)."
