We Are Birds

Over less than three years, We Are Birds combined local stages, festivals and studio recording sessions. After being widely acclaimed in Marseille in 2012, they participated in the Jazz Festival in Dakar, Senegal. In 2013, they start performing in French festivals including "Jazz in Porquerolles". They spend most of 2014 creating and recording.

Nine-year-old Harry isn't like his friends at school. While they are playing computer games at home, he is down the allotment looking after his pigeons. Harry from Newcastle is embarking on his first pigeon racing season. Inspired by his dad's love of the birds, he is going to see if he can rear a team of winners and take on the more mature members of the South Gosforth Homing Society. He has to learn about how to keep, train and nurture the birds ahead of their first race. With fewer than 200 young fliers in the UK, Harry and his dad Shaun hope to inspire the next generation of pigeon racers by giving a talk at his school. On race day, Harry is up at 3am with the excitement of seeing his birds come back. Will he have a winner?

Being one of the most successful producers in the world, Hardwell has seen a lot of attention with the release of his debut album, United We Are. Now, through social media, he has announced a remix album corresponding to his debut.

All we are given we cannot hold was commissioned by the Barlow Endowment for Music Composition at Brigham Young University and is dedicated to and written for my friends in the Haven Trio––Lindsay Kesselman, Midori Koga, and Kimberly Luevano. The songs are settings of poetry by my friend Robert Fanning, selected from three of his incredible collections of work: Our Sudden Museum, The Seed Thieves, and the forthcoming All we are given we cannot hold.

"Hear Where We Are" inverts this premise and examines how humans and other hearing animals use sound to establish acoustical relationships with their surroundings.
