Weightless Jasss

Matt Andersen's eighth studio album finds him featuring his own songwriting skills, and also his versatility, as the award-winning Canadian guitarist shows that there's more to his sound than the blues. Produced by Steve Berlin, Weightless branches off into R&B, reggae, and rockabilly rhythms, and with Calgary guitarist Paul Rigby on board, it's less about soaring guitar leads and more about tight, scrappy guitar arrangements that make this arguably Andersen's best, broadest, and most commercially accessible album.

In the realms of modern day late night ambient exploration Manchester's Marconi Union often draw comparisons with Brian Eno and Biosphere, perhaps Sigur Ros, but the graceful manner with which their richly melodic compositions unfold and the emotion these evoke sets them apart from their peers.
Since their 2003 debut album, 'Under Wires and Searchlights', they have continually refined and developed a unique musical identity that seamlessly blends elements of dub, jazz, ambience and electronic music. Their music straddles the worlds of artistic credibility and musical accessibility and tracks from previous albums have been selected as the beautiful backdrop to television commercials, drama and documentary films worldwide and to accompany art installations, theatre and ballet…

Having rescheduled their March and April tour dates due to the ongoing Covid-19 emergency, elbow have brought forward the release of ‘Live at The Ritz – An Acoustic Performance’. Recorded in October 2019 in the intimate surroundings of The Ritz in Manchester, the album includes acoustic versions of tracks from ‘Giants of All Sizes’ alongside older favourites.
