"I'm The One" is an album by Roberta Flack released in May 1982 which reached #59 on the album chart in Billboard whose R&B album chart afforded the album a #16 peak. The Burt Bacharach/Carole Bayer Sager-produced "Making Love", which appeared in the film of the same name and in the spring of 1982 had afforded Flack her final solo Top 40 hit (#13 on the Billboard Hot 100), was included on the I'm the One album along with eight new tracks co-produced by William Eaton, Ralph MacDonald, William Salter and Flack herself. The track "I'm the One," given parallel single release with the album, peaked at #42 on the Hot 100 where it marked Flack's final solo appearance, although she'd return to the Hot 100 in 1983 with the duets "Tonight, I Celebrate My Love" (#16) and "You're Looking Like Love to Me" (#58) (both with Peabo Bryson) and again in 1991 with "Set the Night to Music" (with Maxi Priest/ #6). A third single from the I'm the One album: "In the Name of Love", reached #24 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart.

Guitar Soli documents the solo acoustic guitar movement that flourished between 1966 and 1981. The collection highlights a range of little-known innovators who bridged the chronological gap between the American Primitivism of John Fahey and Robbie Basho and the California Modernism of Michael Hedges and William Ackerman. Inside, discover the raga-influenced Ted Lucas, the mad-genius luthier William Eaton, the detuned loner Brad Chequer, and the classically trained, soon-to-be-mystery novelist Daniel Hecht.

Label: SoulMusic.com Records (UK) | Cat.# SMCR 5019 | Released: 2011-06-14 (1978)

Some of Bobbi Humphrey's greatest work of the post-Blue Note years – an album that's filled with soulful fusion tunes throughout, all with a great focus on her funky flute! Bobbi also sings a bit on the set, but in a way that's pretty darn great – wonderfully sweet at times, with a bit of an influence from Minnie Riperton that really warms up the set. Arrangements are by Cleveland Eaton, with a bit of help from Art Jenkins – and production is by Ralph MacDonald, who clearly has a great ear for the blend of jazz and soul that Bobbi's going for on the set.

Nils Lofgren is a rock musician, recording artist, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Along with his work as a solo artist, he has been a member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band since 1984, a former member of Crazy Horse and founder/ front-man of the band Grin. This album is certainly the most ambitious and daring of Nils career. I Came To Dance was Nils Lofgren's third solo album. It contains 'Code Of The Road', an epic which always goes down well live and the weird 'Jealous Gun', which appears to be an anti-hunting protest song. The Rolling Stones' 'Happy' ends the LP well with backing singers (Patti Austin, Luther Vandross) who give it a soul-rock feel.
