Relayer is the seventh studio album from the English progressive rock band Yes, released in 1974 on Atlantic Records. Relayer reached #4 in the UK (remaining 8 weeks in the Top 40) and #5 in the US (remaining 16 weeks in the Top 200).
It is the only Yes studio album to feature keyboardist Patrick Moraz, who replaced Rick Wakeman earlier in the year. Wakeman returned to his position in 1976. (Wiki)

A renowned poet has a new album out Friday titled “The Gospel According To Nikki Giovanni.” In addition to publishing dozens of poetry works, Nikki Giovanni has recorded several spoken word albums over the course of 50 years. But this time, she’s doing something a little different. The new album, a collaboration with saxophonist Javon Jackson, is a collection of gospel hymns and spirituals set to jazz. Growing up in the Baptist church, Giovanni says gospel music was instrumental to understanding herself as a poet. “The spirituals had a message,” she says. “They weren't just some people woke up one morning or came from working in the evening and said, ‘Oh, let's sit down and sing.’ They were sharing information with each other.”

bar italia, the London trio of Nina Cristante, Jezmi Tarik Fehmi and Sam Fenton, release their new album Tracey Denim, on Matador Records. Tracey Denim was recorded and produced by bar italia with mixing from Marta Salogni. It features the single “Nurse!” which was released in March to acclaim, and described as “a hypnotic post-punk ballad” (The Guardian) and “narcotically arresting” (Pitchfork).

In one of the few interviews he granted, Boris Tischenko declared that he had always acknowledged the piano to be an ideal synthesis of the symphonic orchestra. In spite of this, his piano writing reveals his very deep faith in its most characteristic possibilities; from certain standpoints, it is reminiscent of that of those who knew the keyboard best and of its greatest specialists. In this sense, his Sonata no. 4 op. 53 (written in 1972, and dedicated not to a person, but rather to one of his favourite cities, Prague) is really emblematic.

The new album by Luca Mannutza, "The Uneven Shorter", a tribute to one of the most beloved artists of jazz, Wayne Shorter, will be released on November 19.
