Yvonne Rainer: The Mind is a Muscle

The Mind is a Razorblade takes the familiar story of a man trying to recover his memory by leaving a trail of bodies behind him and guts it. The reader is right there with the protagonist, groping for details as we descend deeper and deeper into the twisted world that Max has created. Chapters are short and it moves at a breakneck pace during extended reading sessions I found myself repeating “Just five more minutes… just five more minutes… ” However, my favorite aspect of the novel is the humor sprinkled throughout.

The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste is the fourth studio album by industrial metal band Ministry, released in 1989 through Sire/Warner Bros. Records. The music took a more hardcore, aggressively guitar-driven direction. A title that shocked and grabbed attention upon its release, it may also have played a part in not revealing the majestic voice and soul-stirring ballads within.
