The disappearance of nursing student Holly Bobo remains a mystery for years. Even after a tight-knit group of four men are charged in her abduction and murder, no one knows for sure who killed her and why. Everything changes when one defendant turns a state’s witness. The film is based on face-to-face conversations with the Brazilian architect, with an in medias res beginning and a ’spontaneous’ ending: “The interview is over, isn’t it?” asks Niemeyer, when they begin to talk about women as everyday pleasures for the 100 year-old architect.

Marcela, a thirteen-year-old girl lives on an island with no other inhabitants other than her father, a lighthouse keeper. Marcela's father is jealously possessive of his child and she finds no outlets for the desires she is beginning to experience other than a strange relationship with the wind who she names Saulo.

Chief of Police Rui, a happily married man of principles, is in charge of investigating Joana, a teacher who's accused of political crimes. After some false starts, he manages to arrest her, but is startled to learn that she's also a nun.
