Abejas

The Simas & Amorim duo has Luiz Simas on piano and Wesley Amorim on guitars. Their first cd “Deuce” includes Luiz's and Wesley’s infectious original tunes as well as compositions by Radames Gnatalli, Egberto Gismonti and many other great Brazilian composers. It features also new arrangements of a Lennon/McCartney's "Eleanor Rigby", and of the Agustín Barrios virtuosic piece “Las Abejas”. The cd has also the brilliant participation of Jackie Ribas on vocals and of Romero Lubambo on guitar.

Agustin Barrios Mangore was one of the greatest guitar virtuosi of his time and something of a pioneer in making recordings, which he began as early as 1910. His compositions offer a lexicon of technical and expressive devices for the guitar, from both the South American and European traditions. This penultimate volume in the series offers the scintillating Estudio No. 6, which demonstrates some of the composer’s finest artistic characteristics such as poignant treble melodies and a mastery of harmonic progression.

Michal Svoboda was born in Znojmo (Czech Republic) in 1985. He started his guitar studies with Stanislav Jurica at Pardubice conservatory. He studied with Alexander Swete at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and finished his masters degree with honors in 2011.

Concurrently with the CD Tangos & Canciones Johannes Tonio Kreusch's successful solo album Inspiración is re-released. The CD originally released on the BMG label Arte Nova in 2001 is hereby made available again in a remastered version. The famous masterpieces of Barrios-Mangoré, Tárrega, Albéniz, Rodrigo and Brouwer have excited many guitar lovers and are all deeply inspired by the six vibrating strings of the Spanish guitar.

American guitarist Eliot Fisk was mentored by the great Andrés Segovia, who took his last private student under his wing and helped him launch his career. Known for his adventurous repertoire, perfect technique and brilliant sonority, Fisk only recorded a few albums for EMI Germany. His final one is here made available for the first time digitally. It highlights tunes from Latin America, with a focus on Venezuelan works arranged by Fisk’s teacher Alirio Díaz.

Estreou no Carnegie Hall em 2011 e foi solista junto a importantes orquestras como a Filarmônica de Turim (Itália), Filarmônica Simon Bolívar (Venezuela) e Filarmônica de Moscou. Suas interpretações são reconhecidas pela beleza de sua sonoridade e virtuosismo. Já ganhou mais de 10 primeiros prêmios em grandes concursos de violão, como o Michele Pittaluga, Citá di Alessandria, na Itália, o Julián Arcas, na Espanha, o Raifeisenwettbewerb, em Salzburg, Áustria, entre outros. Como concertista, já se apresentou em algumas das principais salas de concerto do mundo.
