The follow-up to joshua abrams's critically acclaimed 2015 album magnetoception is here. simultonality, credited to joshua abrams AND natural information society (NIS), is the first recording in the project’s nine year, four album history made by a regularly gigging manifestation rather than a special assembly of friends. recorded in 2014 & 2015 in single takes by the full ensemble during & after tours of the u.s. & canada, simultonality sets out new pathways for abrams & the NIS to reach the next summit, & once more affirms the project's unique approach to joining traditional musics, american minimalism & jazz with the gnawa ceremonial instrument the guimbri.

"Colonel Abrams" is the self-titled debut album of Colonel Abrams, released in 1985. This album consists of garage house-influenced urban contemporary songs with lyrics and vocal performances provided by Abrams. Includes four Hot R&B singles chart hits: "The Truth," "Over and Over," "Trapped," and "I'm Not Gonna Let You" and the minor R&B chart hit "Table for Two." The album peaked at #13 on the R&B albums chart. It also reached #75 on the Billboard 200. The album features the singles "Trapped", which peaked at #20 on the Hot Soul Singles chart and #1 on the Hot Dance/Disco chart, and "I'm Not Gonna Let", which reached #7 on the Hot Soul Singles chart and #1 on the Hot Dance/Disco chart. In addition, all the cuts of the album reached the top of the Hot Dance/Disco chart.

The Secret of Us (Deluxe) was initially announced at an acoustic show in Toronto, where she performed part of “That’s So True”, one of the new songs featured on the deluxe.

An album that hearkens back to the golden era of Jazz on Manhattan's 52nd street, where smoke filled rooms played host to after-hours jam sessions where musicians got together with their peers to play the music that touched their souls.

The pair will bring their new music to life live onstage later this year, too. They’ve announced a few select performances for this September and next May. On Magnetoception, Joshua Abrams is back exploring new contexts for the guimbri, the three-stringed north African bass lute at the heart of his Eremite recordings Natural Information (2010) and Represencing (2012). The artist's first large-scale work on vinyl, Magnetoception began as a commission by Eremite for Abrams to make a double LP based in extended performances by an ensemble of Abrams, guitarists Emmett Kelly and Jeff Parker, and drummer Hamid Drake. The group recorded the nucleus of Magnetoception live to two-track, circled around vintage Neumanns and a woodstove in a Berwyn, Illinois attic in February 2013.
