O Guns N'Roses surgiu em uma época em que o mainstream musical era dominado pelos timbres eletrônicos e trouxe de volta à popularidade o rock cru e pesado, com riffs de guitarra marcantes e músicas capazes de agitar e emocionar. A estreia do grupo californiano, liderado por Axl Rose e amparado pela guitarra de Slash, aconteceu em 1987, com o primeiro disco Appetite For Destruction, que virou rapidamente um clássico por conta das músicas Sweet Child O'Mine e Welcome To The Jungle. Com o enorme sucesso, a banda não demorou para lançar novos discos: em 1988 veio G N' R Lies e, em 1991, os dois volumes de Use Your Illusion, contendo o clássico November Rain. Em 1993, a banda lançou The Spaghetti Incident?. Aos poucos, os membros foram deixando o conjunto, o que ocasionou um grande hiato, encerrado com o álbum Chinese Democracy, de 2008, último inédito do conjunto.

Frans LEMEIRE's voice style could be defined as a subtle blend of Bon SCOTT's and Brian JOHNSON's. The peculiar look of our favourite Australians has been closely reproduced on the Spirit Of 66 (Verviers) stage, that 22nd March 1998. The schedule of that night included: "Riff Raff", "T.N.T.", "Whole Lotta Rosie", "Highway To Hell", "Let There Be Rock"… And of course "High Voltage" ! Alt-country trio Puss N Boots was formed by superstar Norah Jones with jazz singer Sasha Dobson and session musician Catherine Popper in 2008; it took them six years to get around to making this debut. Recorded in Brooklyn, "No Fools, No Fun" includes five original songs, two each from Dobson and Popper and one from Jones who plays guitar here, not piano. There are also seven spirited cover tunes, all culled from the trio's live repertoire. The studio tracks were recorded in three days while three live songs come from a performance in June 2013 at a small club in Brooklyn called The Bell House.

2008 collection. Using Blue Note artists and catalog as a starting point, these compilations are a fun, funky way to introduce people to Jazz and associated genres. These are definitely not for the purist Jazz fan (indeed, some titles barely contain any out-and-out Jazz at all), but all have that rare groove/early Funk influence that appeals to a wide range of people and have a real chance of being picked up by the younger end of the Jazz demographic. Using a wide range of material, each album is a compilation that raids the Blue Note vaults as well as mining the archives at Capitol and many other labels. As such, they are a great primer for any casual buyer that wants to pick up some jazzy titles without being too serious about it. 11 tracks including cuts from T-Connection, KC & The Sunshine Band, Brass Construction, Donald Byrd and others.

Such an unimaginative title for such a imaginative boxful. Across four discs and 105 songs, Cliff Richard's earliest catalog comes in for precisely the kind of treatment every rock & roll star should have: an all-encompassing study of his most important period. Even more impressively, though the song titles all sound familiar, the performances rarely are. Thirty-seven tracks are bona fide unreleased (South African 78s notwithstanding), but several dozen more are culled from scarce EP-only mixes, rarely resurfacing B-sides, and unusual mixes. One cut, an undubbed take of "Willie and the Hand Jive," was hitherto available only on a mid-'80s budget-priced single disc, covering much the same period as this. It wasn't aimed at collectors, it wasn't heavily advertised, and it probably didn't sell many copies. Of such things do completists dream, but when you have a beakful of hen's teeth to sort through, do such things really matter? Discs one through three are the conventional ones.
