The Searchers were an English Merseybeat group who emerged during the British Invasion of the 1960s. The band's hits include a remake of the Drifters' 1961 hit, "Sweets for My Sweet"; "Sugar and Spice" (written by their producer Tony Hatch); remakes of Jackie DeShannon's "Needles and Pins" and "When You Walk in the Room"; a cover of the Orlons' "Don't Throw Your Love Away"; and a cover of the Clovers' "Love Potion No. 9"…

For Boogie Chillen', Audio Fidelity went back to the original 1948-1954 recording session tapes of these "Detroit Blues Masterpieces" for the SACD edition. The only exception will be the title track since recording tape was not in use in 1948 at the United Sound recording studio in Detroit when it was recorded. In that case, "Boogie Chillen'" was transferred from the surviving 78 RPM acetate record. The SACD compilation and remastering work for the album was done by Steve Hoffman at Kevin Gray's AcousTech Mastering Studio with Lon Neumann serving as the DSD Technician on the remastering session.

Recorded under the auspices of revolutionary reggae producer Lee "Scratch" Perry, this compilation includes early versions of many of the songs that were later to make Bob Marley and the Wailers internationally famous. Previously a fairly run-of-the-mill Jamaican vocal group, the band were molded by Perry into a rootsy, Rasta-centric outfit. The polite ska rhythm of the '60s is gone, replaced by upfront rhythm guitar and bass and Carlton Barrett's exemplary one-drop reggae drumming, and Marley's vocals are tough and confident.

Jimmy Reed at Carnegie Hall is a double album by Jimmy Reed, originally released in 1961. Though the title suggests that the record was recorded live, it consists of studio recreations of a Carnegie Hall performance along with additional studio recordings. "Bright Lights, Big City", which opens the album, was released as a single around the same time. It became one of Reed's most successful and last songs on the Billboard Hot R&B charts. The album includes several other Reed songs that appeared on the charts between 1956 and 1961.
