Morning Trip & Yoga Records are proud to finally reveal one of the ultimate lost masterworks of new age music: Alice Damon’s Windsong. Gently propelled by Damon's haunting breath-of-life vocal winds reminiscent of Joan La Barbara underscored by field recordings and Damon's fretless bass sound calling to mind mid-70 Joni Mitchell, Windsong is traveling music, for the roads or for the skies…

Alice Coltrane's landmark Journey to Satchidananda reveals just how far the pianist and widow of John Coltrane had come in the three years after his death. The compositions here are wildly open and droning figures built on whole tones and minor modes. And while it's true that one can definitely hear her late husband's influence on this music, she wouldn't have had it any other way. Pharoah Sanders' playing on the title cut, "Shiva-Loka," and "Isis and Osiris" (which also features the Vishnu Wood on oud and Charlie Haden on bass) is gloriously restrained and melodic. Coltrane's harp playing, too, is an element of tonal expansion as much as it is a modal and melodic device…

Rock star opulence came to an explosive head in 1973 when Alice Cooper and company hit #1 on the U.S. and worldwide charts with "Billion Dollar Babies", their sixth and most successful album. Produced by Bob Ezrin, it is also one of the best rock n roll records of all time, and the subsequent tour became their biggest rock production to date. Capitalizing on the albums themes of good-old decadence and horror, the show climaxed with a guillotine execution of Alice. The album and the tour catapulted the band into the worlds preeminent pied pipers of teenage trash culture.

By mid-1991, Alice In Chains weren't just a promising new metal band, but had been programmed into the emerging 'alternative' landscape populated by fellow Buzz-worthy acts like EMF, Jesus Jones, and P.M. Dawn. In the meantime this feisty quartet were helping to change the face of pop. In 1992, the acclaimed Dirt album took the band on to new sonic plains, merging Seattle scuzz, the vestiges of pop-metal, and Staley's limitless self-loathing into a hard-rock colossus. Dirt remains the most elemental album of the grunge era. Their performance at the Seattle Center on 20th December 1992, has become a vital addition to the band's legacy and testament to an era of hard drugs, and the disenfranchised in 90's America.

Formed in 1968, the original Alice Cooper band forged a theatrical brand of hard rock that was destined to shock and had never been seen before. Within five years they would release no fewer than seven studio albums, amongst them their international breakthrough School's Out (including the Top 10 hit of the same name) and the US #1 Billion Dollar Babies (1973). By 1974, the band had risen to the upper echelon of rock stardom… and then, it dissolved.

School's Out catapulted Alice Cooper into the hard rock stratosphere, largely due to its timeless, all-time classic title track. But while the song became Alice's highest-charting single ever (reaching number seven on the U.S. charts) and recalled the brash, three-and-a-half-minute garage rock of yore, the majority of the album signaled a more complex compositional directional for the band. Unlike Cooper's previous releases (Love It to Death, Killer), which contained several instantly identifiable hard rock classics, School's Out appears to be a concept album, and aside from the aforementioned title track anthem, few of the other tracks have ever popped up in concert.
