Née Alicia Augello Cook à Manhattan en 1981, l'autrice-compositrice-interprète et pianiste américaine Alicia Keys apparaît en 2001 avec une recette à la croisée des R&B classique et contemporain déclinée sur Songs in A Minor, premier album studio de 2001 récompensé par cinq Grammy Awards et propulsé en tête des charts mondiaux par le hit "Fallin'", s'écoulant à plus de dix millions d'exemplaires. Sur ces fondations solides, la chanteuse se bâtit dès lors un riche catalogue, du salué The Diary of Alicia Keys (2003) à Here (2016) en passant par As I Am (2007), égrainant au passage des classiques du genre comme "No One" ou "If I Ain't Got You" et revient en 2020 avec Alicia, septième opus la voyant entrer dans sa troisième décennie d'activité.
