Alison Balsam

Alison Jiear (born 6 May 1965) is a popular cabaret artist and musical theatre performer on the London cabaret circuit. Jiear was trained at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Australia. In May 2015 Jiear appeared on Britain's Got Talent singing You'll Never Walk Alone. She received a yes from all 4 judges, and was picked as one of 45 acts to advance to the semi-finals. She performed in the second semi-final on 26 May, but came 8th in the public vote, therefore not advancing to the final. Following her appearance on Britain's Got Talent she was cast in George Stiles & Anthony Drewe's family musical The 3 Little Pigs. Opening at the Palace Theatre, London in Summer 2015.

Essex was released a decade after Alf made her an international star and it was to be both Alison’s last full-length studio album for eight years and the last Sony would release. The Deluxe Edition, featuring the original album plus a wealth of material from the remainder of her time with Sony, is remastered from the original tapes and will contain rare and previously unreleased music featuring 12-inch remixes, B-sides, musical collaborations with Lightning Seeds and Tricky, a withdrawn single, a TV theme tune and an alternate demo that’s never been heard and a never-released track from the vaults.

With this release Alison records on the natural trumpet for the first time since the hugely successful album Sound the Trumpet. Inspired by seasonal Baroque repertoire, the recording includes Bach’s concertos by Corelli, Torelli, and Fasch performed with the Academy of Ancient Music under the direction of violinist Pavlo Besnosiuk.

Raising Sand is the 2007 album by singers Robert Plant and Alison Krauss. Released on 23 October, 2007, the album went as high as #2 in both the UK and the US and won a Grammy Awards in 2009 for Album Of The Year.

In the year of Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee, Alison Balsom celebrates the heroic era of the Baroque trumpet in works by George Frideric Handel (1685-1759) and Henry Purcell (1658 or 1659-1695), whose anthems, odes, sinfonias and operas have provided the music for numerous royal celebrations from their own day to the present.

Above the album worked the Robert Plant & Alison Krauss - Raising Sand, and his release took place on 2021. The album has got songs with a total duration of more than an hour. A compilation is a compilation of original music.
