If Jacques-Philippe Lamoninary had decided to try his luck in the metropolis of Paris, like many of his colleagues born in the French provinces (including, for example, Rameau), he would certainly be better known today thanks to the quality of his music. So he confined himself to a regional career in northern France and fell into oblivion after his death. With this recording, Ensemble Hemiolia would like to pay tribute to this brilliant and also enigmatic composer, whose music invites us on a journey of discovery from the very first note.
