Anita Baker's My Everything is her first studio outing in a decade. Family life seems to have claimed most of that time, as the album's last cut, "Men in My Life," seems to indicate. Baker co-wrote seven of the album's nine songs (one is a reprise of the title track), authored the aforementioned tune, and assisted producer Barry J. Eastmond in the arrangements. The disc's first single, "You're My Everything," is indicative of the album's sound: finely wrought and executed urban adult soul. Most of the set falls into this category, too, with the exception of "Like You Used to Do," a duet with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds that walks a line between it and new-school groove.

This Original Album Series release from Rhino contains Anita Baker's first five albums: The Songstress (1983), Rapture (1986), Giving You the Best That I Got (1988), Compositions (1990), and Rhythm of Love (1994). These releases were standard-bearers for adult contemporary R&B. With the exception of the debut – originally released on the independent Beverly Glen label and reissued with lousy and misleading artwork by Elektra in 1991 – each release went platinum or multi-platinum. As with the other Original Album Series releases, each disc is in a cardboard sleeve that replicates Elektra's artwork. Copies sold for a few dollars more than one full-price compact disc. It's not all that sturdy or attractive, but its value is hard to deny.

Having made an enormous contribution to the establishment of the Nashville Sound and the modernisation of country music, Anita Kerr felt the need to expand her artistic horizons and in 1965, made the move from Nashville to Hollywood. She wanted to work with different people, to get her own songs recorded, to play jazz, to conduct an orchestra, to take on more ambitious and more varied projects musically, and to form a vocal group which, rather than be confined to studio sessions, might also appear in club and concert settings. Her arrival on the West Coast was well timed. She had just fought off The Beatles to win a Grammy for the album We Dig Mancini and she was quickly able to assemble a stellar Anita Kerr Singers (B.J Baker: alto, Gene Merlino: tenor; Bob Tebow: bass, with Anita herself as soprano and soloist) and secure a contract more tailored to her needs with Warner Brothers. The result over the next two years, were these five superbly fashioned albums.

Thirteen hours of unreleased and ultra-rare music. The Eternal Myth Revealed is a 14 disc docu-biography of Ra's life and career, from his birth in 1914 up to 1959. In addition to his own music, it includes music he was influenced by, and a lot of stuff he may or may not have had a hand in as arranger, vocal coach, pianist or something else. Sun Ra's output was as prolific as Ellington's, and discographers have had nightmares and arguments attempting to document it accurately.

The new compilation Great Moments With… showcases the remarkable moments of Chet Baker's career, featuring both his vocals and trumpet work. It spans his final five and a half years, during which he collaborated closely with the Wim Wigt Timeless Records agency in the Netherlands. The album includes a mix of bebop and ballads, along with the previously unreleased bonus track 'But Not For Me'. During this period, Baker benefited from the agency's management, leading to fewer missed performances and increased fame. His relationship with Wigt and his team, including his girlfriend Diane Vavra, key figures like tour manager Peter Huijts and record engineer Max Bolleman, significantly enhanced his career. The double album traces his journey with Wigt, beginning with the opening track 'Ray's Ideas', and the ballad 'Everything Happens To Me' and concludes with the previously unreleased track 'But Not From Me'. The album highlights his work with European musicians and features recordings from various sessions, including performances with Dexter Gordon's rhythm section, his own trio, and a rare live recording from Zagreb. The Great Moments With LP… not only celebrates Baker's legacy but continues to inspire and resonate with new generations.
