The album begins with escape, as I left Reykjavik to go write at a friend’s summerhouse, I went with just a guitar and piano for a reason. I wanted to take the music back to its roots, in a way, and make it more about honesty. It would just be what the songs were and nothing more than that. The lyrics on the album are also very personal for me, because my Dad and I did this together.
