Asterix & Obelix Missione Cleopatra

Caesar has had enough when another legion is hacked to pieces by the damned single indomitable village in Gaul because of the druid's magic potion, so he decides to tackle the problem at the root before conspiratorial senators exploit his humiliation: sycophant Lucullus is ordered to capture the druid (believed immortal) and push him over the edge of the earth (according to the story still believed to be flat as a pizza; actually Greeks and Romans knew better). By pure luck, Lucullus' first net traps both druid and Obelix's pet dog, so the giant and Asterix follow them by ship on the Atlantic, and crash after a storm on the North America coast in pursuit of the druid who was catapulted off the Roman galley before Lucullus triumphantly sets sails back for Europe. They find the druid and meet a tribe of Indians (believing to be in India), literally a whole New World for the equally primitive Celts. Astérix et Obélix devront remporter les Jeux Olympiques, permettre au jeune Gaulois Alafolix d'épouser la Princesse Irina et lutter contre le terrible Brutus, prêt à tous les stratagèmes, pour lui aussi gagner les Jeux Olympiques et se débarrasser de son père : Jules César.

Nous sommes en 50 avant Jésus-Christ ; toute la Gaule est occupée par les Romains… Toute ? Non ! Car un village peuplé d'irréductibles Gaulois résiste encore et toujours à l'envahisseur. Exaspéré par la situation, Jules César décide de changer de tactique : puisque ses armées sont incapables de s’imposer par la force, c’est la civilisation romaine elle-même qui saura séduire ces barbares Gaulois. Il fait donc construire à côté du village un domaine résidentiel luxueux destiné à des propriétaires romains. : « Le Domaine des Dieux ». Nos amis gaulois résisteront ils à l’appât du gain et au confort romain ? Leur village deviendra-t-il une simple attraction touristique ? Astérix et Obélix vont tout faire pour contrecarrer les plans de César.

Chief Vitalstatistix's brother leaves his son, Justforkix alias Hippix, in Asterix's village, but even the hero and Obelix can't turn the sensitive, artistic scared teenager into a Gallic warrior. Ironically that's what ambitious Viking chief Timandahaf wants after his druid Cryptograf accidentally made him believe fear 'sprouting wings' literally enables flying. The druid plans to make his ox-strong and -dumb son Olof marry the sonless chief's daughter Abba, but she falls in love with Hippix.
