Pamela Hart is highly regarded as one of Austin, Texas’ finest vocalist She is noted by Austin Women’s Magazine as “Austin’s First Lady of Jazz ” Pamela and her husband Kevin Hart produced (and she has performed in) the semi-annual Women in Jazz Concert Series 1994 through 2021. Pamela was inducted in the Austin Jazz Society Hall of Fame in 2018. She has recorded Sunday House Concerts on YouTube since March 2020. A native of Los Angeles, Pamela released her first CD “May I Come in?” in 1998. She is proud to release “Happy Talk” in May 2021.

Grammy-nominated powerhouse singer-songwriter Beth Hart has announced her new studio album, ‘You Still Got Me’, which will be released on 25 October via Provogue / Mascot Label Group. The album features appearances by Eric Gales and Guns ‘n Roses’ Slash. If you have ever seen Beth Hart live or immersed yourself in her music, you know she puts every ounce of her being into her songs. Firebrands inspire; it's what attracts people to them. However, part of those personalities' makeup is that they do not wear a harness. They thrive on the freedom and space around them. But, with that comes danger; you need an emotional crash mat, and those save lives. It is something we all need at times throughout our lives.

This band led by German saxophonist Johannes Enders is inspired by Pharoah Sanders' emotional intensity and never derivative. In nine original compositions the musicians build a bridge back to Sanders, formulating their very own interpretation, expanding on it, and making it swing. Johannes Enders has found an ideal trio for this. Billy Hart was on drums when Pharoah Sanders recorded his album "Karma" with the legendary "The Creator Has a Master Plan" in New York in 1969, he puts his stamp of authenticity on a music full of bursting swing and groove. The dexterous and supple bass of Joris Teepe, who in Rashied Ali's band gained first-hand experience with one of the protagonists of the New York's own October revolution in Jazz, intertwines with Hart to form a solid yet flexible base over which Johannes Enders can develop his distinctively imaginative playing, wonderfully fluid yet with many points of controlled friction.

Listening to the Mysterious Shorter SACD in Surround Sound, you'll discover some interesting takes on Shorter's music. As Bob Belden suggests in the liner notes, they've taken some of his upbeat compositions and arranged them to take advantage of the Organ, Guitar, Sax and Trumpet in the group. The SACD also does a fine job of reproducing the performances. It definitely provides a "you are there" level of performance and Chesky's minimalist recording approach with no compression and overdubs offers a nice change of pace from the very compressed sounds we all too often hear in many of today's conventional audio disc releases. Weather Report and Jazz fans will enjoy this one.

Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Tim Hart shares a new song, “Cold Comfort,” from his upcoming solo album Winning Hand, out February 19, 2021. A song about a love story gone awry, “Cold Comfort” balances raw lyrics with warm instrumentation and lush horns. “It’s angry, toxic and bitter,” Tim says. “It’s all about the emotion in the heat of things going wrong.”
